From the morals that every 'alim (knowledgeable person) must have is tawadlu' and not 'agreed'. Tawadlu 'is an attitude that is easy to like, easy to accept, and makes people sympathetic. On the other hand, ujub' is an attitude that easily eliminates sympathy and even hurts humans.
If ordinary people ('laymen) behave 'ujub' is a bad thing, then 'alim people who behave' ujub are worse. because the 'alim' are figures, role models and examples for others.
Being a pious person is not easy, the trials he faces are as big as he knows. If he is an 'alim who deepens his knowledge and then puts it into practice, of course he will 'be humble' by himself. Because tawadlu' is a reflection which indicates that he is a 'alim.
