My favorite sport is basketball. I started playing basketball when I was 13 years old, it is my favorite sport maybe because it is the most favorite sport for Filipinos. There are a lot of basketball leagues in the Philippines. The most common is the Barangay League. Most of the barangay hold tournaments during the fiesta celebration and Christmas season. This league entertains the whole barangay and brings the neighboring barangay supporters that join the league. And the league is also divided into age brackets: 13 years old and below( mini-midget), 14-15 years old ( midget), 16-17 years old( Junior), and other age brackets. Basketball is very popular and lively in the Philippines. Philippine Basketball League and National Basketball League are televised. I think it is about 5 times a week. You can also see a lot of basketball courts anywhere. It could be a basketball gym or outdoor basketball courts.

My idol is Vergel Meneses (PBA)and Kobe Bryant (NBA). Their skills and athleticism are my types of favorite. Floating in the air and dunking. And I tried to copy those moves. My classmates and friends yelled at me "Meneses" or "Kobe" and until now some of my Japanese basketball friends called me "Kobe". I have also enjoyed that call as well.

I got to know other people because of basketball and even have Japanese friends because of it.
My favorite sport is everything to me in my life. It taught me to be diligent, to be a sportsman, and to be patient that life is a win or loss.
