Today I would like to study logic circuits.
Actually, I had a chance to touch them once when I was in college, so it's been a very long time !
*A logic element is the smallest circuit to perform a logical operation, and a logical operation is an operation that takes two values, 0 and 1.
Now, let's see what logic elements are available.
①AND
logical expression : A・B
Output Y is 1 only when both inputs A and B are 1.
②NAND
logical expression : ¬(A・B)
Output Y is 0 only when both inputs A and B are 1.
③OR
logical expression : A + B
If at least one of inputs A and B is 1, the output Y will be 1.
④NOR
logical expression : ¬(A + B)
Output Y is 1 only when both inputs A and B are 0.
⑤XOR
logical expression : A ⊕ B
Output Y is 1 when inputs A and B are different, and Y is 0 when they are the same.
⑥NOT
logical expression : ¬A
If input A is 1, Y outputs 0; if A is 0, Y outputs 1.
Normally, when designing logic circuits, the process proceeds in the order of creating a truth table ⇒ obtaining logic equations ⇒ designing logic circuits.
*What is a truth table? You may want to do a little search if you are wondering what it is.
Simply put, it is a representation of the output to the input as 0,1.
