Venice ; My Dream City.

I remember there was a contest titled "my dream place", which I skipped because it gave me nostalgia, of when I was only a young girl in my junior secondary school and also a big sad feeling of not experiencing what I had imagined and dreamed about for many years.

Back then in secondary school FHS Ikoyi, lagos

Now I am with kids even if I dream those dreams it will be a lot different with me feeling a bit exhausted from just imagining them running around with me getting scared of them falling.

My dream place is the City of Venice and it was well formed and created when I stumbled upon the book titled "the merchant of Vernice" It was written by my most respected author Williams Shakespeare🙌🙌🙌.

You see, medieval plays can drive a modern person into little bits of confusion and word search because of the old English which to me is a more romantic English😁.

Right now I can't say, if "_The Merchant of Vernice _" was my first read from Williams Shakespeare or if it was the read that got me hooked and left in me, an imaginary floating bubbles of adventure madness.!

Well, it took me somewhere I refused to return from, except when brought into my Nigerian reality of Venice boat sailing, only in my imagination, with of course, those in Venice living the reality of my imagination. "Hiss"

So here are a few things about my dream city Vernice.

_Originally, it was thought that the 5th-century Venetians were forced to flee from the mainland because of conquerors and invaders. The idea was that building Venice on top of its lagoons provided protections that the original settlers sought.

I heard there are no cars in Venice, so I always imagined myself sitting on a boat, on a lovely evening, sipping my coffee and scones and just admiring the great city, with a book authored by Williams Shakespeare in my hand. Dotting the eyes and crossing the tees of the might-be locations from the book. Then I bend my head backwards to enjoy the sweet breeze that is dancing with the waters.

Oh Venice, will be an awesome city for me, I can imagine the houses and greeneries and the waters, everything just having the medieval feeling despite being in modern time.

Then hire a tour guide to take me around the city, where I asked him questions based on directions from "the merchant of Venice". Then ask him questions too, if there is someone known in the city to be a descendant of the great author Williams Shakespeare.)

Trust me to use Google still, even when I ask those questions, cos a make-believe, arranged impostor might claim to be who I seek. I will ask the court around and see if I can visit, to imagine Shylock in the courtroom with my wise Portia and Bassanio and Antonio, even Gratiano. Then finally imagine the disappointment on Shylock's face (The Mr pound of Flesh)🤣🤣🤣🤣. Oh, what a sweet adventure it would be.

Night time in venice will be beautiful, the views will be so epic. A view of an unending feeling of a peaceful forever, overdosed with great feeling of contentment and drenched in one of my most perfect heart's achievements.

I will surely visit the museum, for I believe the museum will give me so many images of the past, maybe old newspapers, paintings, pictures, scrolls and all those good old stuff. Venice will surely be a dreamy place to visit, it will be a sweet dream come true.

Until then I will enjoy my present location and eat Pizza and cook my pasta whole, without breaking it, in honor of Italy which carries my dream city Venice. Adios Steemians
