This post is showing the cationic (basic) aminoacid (histidine, lysine, arginine) transport.
In the basolateral membrane:
- The Na/K ATPase, which brings 2 potassium ions into the cell and releases 3 sodium ions into the interstitial space.
- The y+LAT1 brings into the cell a neutral aminoacid and sodium in exchange for a cationic aminoacid
In the apical membrane:
- The rBAT/b0,+AT transporter brings in a cationic aminoacid (or cysteine) in exchange for a neutral aminoacid)
