An indescribable achievement of Bengali nationhood on February 21st. On this day, my brothers Salam, Barkat, Rafiq, Jabbar, and many others who do not know their names gave their lives. They gave their lives for their spoken language.
The Martyrs

They created a unique precedent in the world court.
But this giving of life did not happen overnight. For this, many struggles and sacrifices have to be made. Our country's language warriors have had to work hard to ignore the watchful eyes of Pakistani breathers and go beyond their decisions. February 21, 1952, marked the continuation of this conflict. On this day, the entire Bengali nation fought for the right to speak Bengali, its mother tongue. Break all barriers posed by Pakistani forces.
The Procession

The march marched forward with firm feet. The audacious Pakistanis then created a barbaric history. Pakistanis fired on our procession. Instantly, countless fresh lives fell to the ground. With their own blood, the sons of my Bengali mother earned the right to speak their mother's language. This incident spread all over the world.
Since then, Mother Language Day has been celebrated nationally every year in our country.

But since 1952, it has been celebrated only as "National Martyrs' Day."
The proposal was put forward at the Paris session of UNESCO held on November 17th, 1999, and February 21st was declared "International Mother Language Day" with the support of 188 countries. Since February 21st, 2000, it has been celebrated as International Day with due dignity.
