There are many lovely places in Bangladesh that will make your trip special. Sonargaon is one of this country's most beautiful places.

At different points in time, Bengal's eastern capital was Sonargaon, also known as Golden City. When Muslim rulers chose to relocate their capital to Dhaka in the 17th century, it fell into decay and It is today little more than a few villages with a few scattered ruins.

When Isa Khan governed Bengal in the fifteenth century, this location served as the capital, making it a significant political and commercial hub for the residents. Sonargaon contains a richness of Mughal, Sultanate, and colonial-era architecture because of this.

The Panch Pir Mazar Shrine, the Sonakanda River Fort, Abdul Hamid's Mosque, and the Ibrahim's are a few of the prominent structures that you must not miss out of the numerous monuments.

The ancient capital of Bengal is Sonargaon, which is located close to Dhaka. The primary draw of the known Deva Dynasty till the thirteenth century is also known as "The City of Panam" in addition to this.

Sonargaon was undoubtedly of Hindu origin. It's capital city was located on the northern bank of the Dhaleswari, near to the confluence of the Dhaleswari and the Sitalakshya as well as the Old Brahmaputra and the Meghna.

Sonargaon is still a popular tourist destination nowadays. They are drawn to it by its breathtaking beauty as well as by the abandoned structures and artifacts from Bengal's past. The Goaldia Mosque, a magnificent specimen of an old Sonargaon structure, is located in the Goaldi village. The Folklore Museum is another attraction that receives a lot of visitors.

Sonargaon is unquestionably a fantastic destination for tourists. This location has a considerable historical significance because it was the first capital of Bengal and has several antique Mughal Empire monuments. You will be astounded to discover this city's buildings in every nook and cranny.
