Fokeev Valentin Pavlovich was born on June 28, 1940 in the village of Simontsevo, Vyaznikovsky District, Vladimir Region.
The historical theme was central to the artist's work. The past and present of the Russian people, history, epic epics, folk tales and traditions made up for him a whole.
In the series “Russian Fortresses”, the artist depicted Old Russian temples and fortifications. Each fortress at Fokeev is a complex architectural complex, presented by the artist in his former guise.
