
When we go to a bakery in Venezuela, it is very common to ask for our delicious cachito accompanied by coffee with milk or simply a cup of coffee. That is why today I want to share with you the recipe for the bread that is a must in any bakery; of course, Truchi Café is no exception and always includes in its products this sensational little piece of bread.
Why is it so sought after?

Types of chachitos
➽Classic Cachito: This cachito has the well-known ham as filling; when we want to surprise our customers even more, we add extra bacon to the filling to make its flavor unforgettable despite its simplicity.
➽Cream cheese Cachito: As its name indicates, this cube contains a cream cheese filling, sometimes accompanied with smoked ham to give it a flavor between the acid, sweet and smoked ham.
➽Puff pastry Cachito: The big difference between this cachito and the others is its dough, because instead of using the common dough, it is replaced by a puff pastry dough; while its filling will still be any of the ones you like.
Actually, the type of cachito is created by the baker or the customer, because there are times when I am asked to make a cachito with ricotta cheese or paisa cheese, others may request that the dough does not contain much sugar and that is where the variety comes from.
Recipe for cachitos - Truchi Café✍
➽500 grams of wheat flour.
➽8 grams of yeast.
➽100 grams of butter.
➽75 grams of sugar.
➽4 grams of salt.
➽1 egg.
➽240 milliliters of warm water.
Filling:
➽400 grams of ham of your choice.
➽20 grams of butter.


Elaboration✍
For the filling:
➽Just cut the ham into squares and add butter; stir very well.
➽Once the dough is ready and rested, stretch it on the table in a round shape, add butter on top and then cut it in a triangle shape, as if it were a pizza.
➽Next, add a normal spoonful of filling, fold the sides so that the ham does not come out of the bread and start rolling. Repeat this procedure with each triangle and place them on a tray varnished with butter. Let them rest for 40 minutes.
➽With the oven preheated to 250°, glaze the chips with egg previously mixed with a teaspoon of sugar, place them in the oven and let them bake for 20 minutes or until they turn golden brown.

➽Add a little butter to the stretched dough; this will give a juicier and softer texture to the bread.
➽Don't forget to add a little sugar to the egg with which you will glaze the dough before putting them in the oven; this will give you golden and shiny breads.
