Logistics are basically defining as process to plan, coordinate and execute a particular movement and storing of different type of products goods and resources from one place to another place. It going to send you this management of full supply chain starting from sourcing of materials to their delivery to customers.

Logistics is one of the most essential components of supply chain managing which is used for giving surety of goods delivery at right place and at right time in proper situation. When I talk about effective management of logistics then it includes your behavior and your organization with suppliers manufacturers where houses transportation providers and customers etc.

There are different types of logistics in which there are inbound logistics which are about procurement and sourcing. After that outbound logistics comes which are from delivery to their customers. Reverse logistics are all about returns and refund as these are also indicating through their name.After that third party and fourth party logistic comes.

There are different activities that fall under the category of logistics.First of all there is transportation,then warehousing and storage,then inventory managing, fulfilling of orders, packaging and labeling and at last freight and forwarding comes.

There some of the most well known benefits of logistics In which first of all there is reduction in costs, after that more enhanced time of delivery comes, enhanced satisfaction of customers,more visibility of supply chain,more better inventory managing systems and at last improved competitiveness all are included in logistics benefits.

Logistics professionals have to face some of the limitations. First limitation is increase in cost of fuel, another limitation is increase in demand of fastest delivery or quick delivery, complexities in global supply chains, issues related to security and safety, environmental sustainability challenges and at last technical problems.

Technology have a vital role in logistics with diverse range of applications like transport managing systems,warehouse managing systems,inventory managing software,global management of trades,artificial intelligence and at last internet of things.

There are some of the sustainable practices that are adopted by logistics and the sustainable practices include alternative fuels ,electrical vehicles ,solar power warehouses ,recycling programs,reduction of packaging and carbon off setting etc.Future of logistics can be shaped up by introduction of autonomous vehicles ,delivery of drones, some of advancements in technology, increase use of machine learning and evolution in expectations of customers.
