True Colours 4 (Team #3) | February Curation Report for Week 3

1. Preface

We searched for comments. Fact: in most communities, there is an awkward silence. Comment Contests seem to be abandoned. Our guess, the host is not active, doesn't engage with the participants, there are too many rules set and the fun level is absent.

Comments reciting what the author wrote we do not consider a comment and will not be rewarded by us.

Creativity is at a low level if it comes to crafts and partly photography (contests). It would be good to see improvement if it comes to crafts and DIY among the participants joining these contests. It may be clear that the same photo/drawing used three times for different contests can not count on our support.

Hashtag abuse and lack of knowledge of how to use them is a pain. It would be good if those with great content do use hashtags to be found other than the intern ones which will not help make them (and Steem) visible.

Above mentioned facts limits those (and communities) we can vote.

This is the statistical report on the implementation of the third week of February curatorial activities by Team True Colours 4.

2. The Statistics

suryati1 shared a story of how she, a cleaner at a Government office, had the opportunity to learn the skill of crafting from discarded materials (garbage, including mineral water bottles) one day, and that in turn has helped her to make a little extra money. "I learned by doing what they showed us, and eventually we were contracted to make handicrafts from the drinking water plastic packaging and turn them into valuable items, just me and my sister-in-law who pursued the craft and made tremendous profits at the time."

In this comment, soulsdetour writes about the tradition in her country, Bulgaria, of sons taking care of their parents in old age. soulsdetour also writes that due to difficult economic conditions, three generations often live in one house, which can cause conflict and suffering, especially for daughters-in-law who are often not accepted by their in-laws. Soulsdetour may write something sad but in a relaxed way, and also expresses her opinion on the condition, "My opinion is that adults have no business in the life of a young family, not in the beginning or ever, but since this non-interference, physical and mental, cannot happen, guess if I choose to marry and follow the established traditional order of habitual suffering."

In this dark humour, serdak wrote a short story about Death, who is portrayed as a person who has a regular job and has daily tasks and schedules, and Death is also not free from awkward situations that are common to other workers. Death, should come in a gloomy form, but in this piece, the story takes a different path. The story contains every aspect the writer loves from horror to humour (this is why she rates herself with a 9). "Death slipped a hand into her pocket and pulled out her work phone. She had barely turned it on when a notification appeared: "Peter Parker – ready for pickup." She stared at the message in confusion. 'Wait… Spider-Man can die?'"

ronnie10 actively thinks on how to make writing easier as a new participant of the SSEA-MINER Programme. He was very happy to have joined the Programme initiated by the Steem SEA Community and received a 300 SP delegation from the TᗩᒪES & STOᖇIES community. His nominated comment is part of a series of comments revolving around the Programme and the MINER-WeWrite contest. "Anyway, I have to point out that everything that I saw in Steem SEA community is non-English. I can tell you that if I get it, I can participate in contests over here. But, I think my articles would be more relevant in Freewriters. I am not seeing any contest going on right now. But, maybe there is. All I have right now is, 1 idea for a long post that might be not relevant in Freewriters. I can post it here."

naina9 wrote an evocative short note about her metamorphosis as a woman through certain phases of her life. It's a melancholic piece of writing, written in an assertive style, like someone trying to hide fragility behind a sturdy set of words, but at the same time, proud. "Listen! I am a housewife. I don't do any job but I have 24 hours duty at home. Sewing clothes, cooking, washing dishes, cleaning, washing clothes, I am an expert in all these things. I try to remove all the problems of myself and my family with my intellect and consciousness and I am quite successful in this."

Jiva34 commented on an article on talkchannel managed by @adeljose, where she answer some Steem-related questions. In this comment, engagement was recognised as useful for sharing information and knowledge. ”To be honest with I didn't understand resteem until reading some comments here. Evidently when someone clicks on your name the first thing they get is the blog. They don't get directly right away to your posts. So it's important to resteem your posts onto the blog.”

This dark comedy short story by sbamsoneu tells the story of a terrifying legendary figure named Lady Koi Koi. It starts with the background of why she became a frightening legend. "Lady koi koi is one of the Nigeria popular stories told to scare students in boarding school. Lady koi koi is a very beautiful lady that’s always on red clothes and on high heels. However, she was a very wicked lady. Most students saw her as a sadist because She beats you at every slightest opportunity she gets. The student had reported the issue to the school authorities, but it fell on deaf ears."

I know it could be tough getting everyone on the same level when it comes to hashtags or writing in a way that makes this place more organized or easier for everyone to find relevant information.

Anyway, I have written many comments. Especially, this week. But, I never thought that comment would end up being mentioned in an article.

Thanks for the mention..

Strange, you are longer here than today and the team did nominate comments from the moment they started which was September 2024 and as far as I know they were the first. Why not show good comments? Why not nominate those who take the time to write and share? The entire year of 2024 I saw and read many comments which are way better than the average post. Trust me if you only read comments you see a completely different Steemit.

Congratulations!

When I read your comment at first, I thought you meant that there are others' who wrote comments better than this one. Then, I realized that you meant that I wrote a better comment than this one. I agree with both. LOL

I go through comments from time to time, and I do upvote comments that are really good. Even, if they aren't directed to me. I agree, it is totally a different place when people engage in comments rather than posting an article and forgetting about it.

Thanks =D

You are welcome and... happy writing!

We do not see it as a single comment but we see it as part of the post and we value the engagement that it helps establish. Congratulations. Have a great day.

Thank you so much for your lovely review @aneukpineung78 .
Very nice to read.

It's been 8 days old. The reward might hit another of your comment or post. Congrats.

Thanks a lot.

Awesome to be a part of the communities on Steemit. There really is nothing quite like it anywhere. At least I haven't found anything to even compare.

I haven't found anything to even compare.

I think that is something to be said at the end of the journey. I'm not sure about this. But, I think that we are still in beginning of the path. I'm not saying what we have is not good. I think what we have is actually nice. But, I guess there is much to do from here. The work that @aneukpineung78 and @wakeupkitty is putting is quite unique and impressive. The whole community would rise if more people would put up effort to make this place a better place than it is right now.

Agreed. Those who have the propensity. It's not something just anyone can do. Only the beginning. The tests will come.

Terimakasih teman atas nominasi yang di berikan kepada saya, saya sangat bersyukur dan bahagia sekali, selamat juga untuk teman-teman yang lain,

Terima kasih telah menulis di Steem dan aktif berkomentar.
