Introduction

7 days have passed and its time to make a report of my activities as a country representative for Nigeria. I thank the Steemit team for this opportunity to serve in this capacity. Here are some of activities for the past 7 days.

1. Powering up to remain in Club75 - 96% of my earnings

I know that remaining in club75 is and should be a priority. So I work very hard and see to it that I do not leave the club. In the last two months, I have been powering up nearly everything I earned. I actually powered up more than 95% of my earnings since two months now. You can see a screenshot of my activity for two months below:

2. Our class for the week was held yesterday -

I and @ijelady resumed our weekly classes last week. We agreed to hold the class every Tuesday by 8.30pm. So yesterday being Tuesday 16/8/2022, we held the class on Whatsapp. Our classroom has 51 persons in attendance as can be seen below:

The topic we handled was: 5 Ways to Improve the Quality of your Posts. This topic is very important as we are eager to vastly improve the quality of content published in our community. Below is the outline:

  1. Title of post
  2. Proper use of images
  3. Basic Markdown
  4. Content depth
  5. Tags

The summary of the presentation is as follows - Title of post should not be too long, should be descriptive and arouse readers interest. Ideally, it should not be more than a sentence long. Images should be clear and in the right sizes. Thumbnails must be in landscape orientation and should relate to the title. Basic markdown like Justify alignment and centered headings should be used to beautify posts. Each post should be at least 300 words long, well researched and properly referenced in the case of texts or images that are not the authors own. Tags should be correctly typed. The most important tags should be among the first 3.

We have started seeing improvements in posts published after the class. We hope that our authors will continue to do more. Below is the class banner:

3. Organizing Meetups

Meetups are very important for the growth of Steemit. Within the week, i met with several Steemians to help them understand some aspects of blogging on Steemit. The frist Steemian I met is @chiomzy810. She had some issues with her account and I helped her settle it. I asked why she has not blogged for months. After hearing her out, I encouraged her to resume. I updated her with some many things that has happened and she was really excited to resume.

I am happy that within the 4 days she came (13/8/2022) and I encouraged her to resume, she has published 3 articles in 3 different communities. I took a selfie with her before she left that day.

I organized another meetup with 3 Steemians. Just like @chiomzy810, this was their first tiime of visiting me. The 3 Steemians are @ogwo, @innocent10 and @chukwu10. They came to the center today 17/8/2022. I have written a more detailed post about the meetup. Check it out below:

4. Assisting with mod duties

Because of the volume of posts that we have weekly (80 - 100), i now work as moderator in SteemALive community. I want to make sure every post is checked and verified. Yesterday I worked on 8 posts. Today, I have been able to verify 10 posts. This, together with the work of other mods have made it possible to have posts promptly checked after they were published.

Because of my busy schedule today, I have not extracted all the links of the posts I verified. I will do that in the morning. Meanwhile, I just did a screenshot of 5 of them from my comment page as seen below:

5. Contests

In following with the standard set by the Steemit team, I prepare and publish community contests every Sunday morning. Then by Monday afternoon, I have announced the previous week's contest. Below is our contest for the week already in progress.

Awwwwnnn, I can't wait to be successful just like you are. I know it takes time and effort but it's worth it

Nice post, you have really given the report very well and also you are really trying both in promoting steem and also helping newbies out,I really missed a lot of things in the class because I was not not available at that time.

But our meetup was really great as you cooled down and shared with us some of the things that others learnt in the lesson.

You are more than a mentor to us and we really love to have you in our midst.

@ogwo. I was happy too to see you people live for the first time. It was a great meeting. More of that will come. Keep on working hard the way you are in fact doing. Learn and continue to grow. Your dedication and consistency is really encouraging.
