I consider myself lucky I left the city in time and live in the country. Most of the time it's quiet or as quiet as it can be. Once it's spring the birds make a tremendous noise. It's annoying just like the train I hear passing by although the train station isn't nearby what to think about the farmer who only works at night or on Sundays?
If a tractor drives up and down or a car passes by I can feel the earth move and the walls shake. Fingers crossed the house won't tumble down like the houses of the three piglets as the wolf stopped by.
I don't mind hearing the baby deer cry for their mom or the owls' cry late at night. It's interesting how both nearly sound the same, the sound of a kitten which can drive one nuts if it continues the whole day on.
My Friday walk is not different from any other daily walk and if so it's because of the weather. This morning I did not visit the marketplace. I want to stay home and catch up with the things on my list.
I go for a walk with little Yddy. For a change, the sun shines and it even feels warm. While Yddy follows his nose I stand still and let the sun warm me up. It's warmer outside than inside.
We follow the road I walk slowly. There's no need to hurry plus the little dog his need to run increases daily.
Let's go home, I said and suddenly Yddy is in a hurry. He needs to find something to take home with him. He has his own collection of treasures.
I noticed there are several ways in. Who made and takes them except for the many birds living here? Yddy and I haven't discovered it yet. My guess is the deer it's. I saw them running away at the back as the hunters were here last week.
The chickens are waiting for their food although they can walk freely. I won't give them much since they no longer lay eggs. The days (daylight) are too short. Just a bit of grain to make them take care of the weeds.
Yddy helps the chickens eat their food. No idea why he eats it but since dog food is mainly made out of grains... The chickens chase after him if he's too greedy or pushy. Later the chickens go after his dog food.
I planted onions in the old well again since I had some left. These are doing better than those I planted at the start of spring. I noticed that everything grows way slower. So I have spring onions in November. I think I should better use them.
Something eats my cabbage but I never see who does. I'll leave it this way since these plants will survive the winter and insects will not be active during the winter period. I don't mind eating what a bug touches either.
It all grows slowly. I am still using the planting app. My plants always use two to four weeks more. The salt finally starts to grow the rest is negative. Perhaps I should remove the sugar naps so I can plant some garlic?
I fertilize with chicken poop.
I harvested the dill I planted (out of seeds) already and this is what popped up by itself. The plant looks better than it did this summer.
It's November and the lavender starts blooming again.
Finally some peppers! I hope a part of my pepper plants survives the winter. I need an earlier harvest.
The last tomato plants still have tomatoes. Later I'll clean them up. I don't need the pots yet.
Peppermint plants, more onions and I was even able to fill a huge bag with walnuts.
It's autumn. I have plenty to do. The sun is shining which means time to do the laundry and hang it outside
Wherever you are enjoy your day and do not forget to go outside and breathe in and out.
