Closed: Goodbye supermarket

The supermarket is closing.
I regret this but can do little about it.
Maybe there will be an Action now, mum said. Two years ago, employees in another shop were already talking about this. Mum had already asked Action to open a shop here. She likes shields and creativity and Action sells a lot of that stuff. After we moved, there is no Action store nearby and without a car it is difficult to travel to the one in town.
This morning I was up early because everything that is still in the shop is being sold for 50%.
This was a nice shop with helpful staff. I think they are not big enough for reduced people because they do not sell everything. Mum thinks that is nonsense. They sell milk, bread, cheese, vegetables, fruit, meat and much more and you could always have a free cup of tea or coffee and there were biscuits on the table. Dutch cosiness. People liked to come and have a chat. This was also the shop where you could post and collect letters and parcels.
The boy at the cash register said that there would indeed be an Action but that the shop would have to be rebuilt first, so it would take until December. So soon we will only have to cross the street diagonally and walk 200-300 metres to the Action. I will miss the old Coop supermarket. The friendly people and the many special offers and discounted items that made life a bit easier and more fun.
