The movie takes place three years after the Death Star was destroyed. Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia Organa and the rest of the Rebel Alliance team are pursued by Darth Vader and the Empire's elite forces. Luke goes to Dagobah to train with Jedi Master Yoda. Han Solo also takes Leia Organa with him to Cloud City, where his old friend Lando Calrissian is the ruler. Luke learns a shocking truth from Darth Vader, who has prepared a secret trap for him.

After a difficult production phase, The Emperor received mixed reviews when it was released on May 21, 1980, but over time it was recognized as the best episode of the series and one of the best films in the history of cinema. Three years after the Battle of Yavin, the three heroes of the Rebellion Forces, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Princess Leia Organa, are with the rebels stationed on the planet Hoth and are sought by imperial forces. Luke is attacked by a creature while on patrol. After escaping the creature's lair, Luke can't get far because of the cold. It falls to the ground. Meanwhile, Obi-Wan Kenobi's spirit appears to him, telling him to go to the Dagobah system and find his former master, Master Yoda. After he didn't return, Han goes out to search and finds Luke freezing. Eventually, the Imperial Navy locates the rebel alliance based on the icy planet Hoth at the far end of the galaxy. The imperial army under Darth Vader blockades the rebels. The rebels manage to escape from the Glacial Planet with serious losses, but Han and Leia aboard the Millennium Falcon are pursued across the galaxy by the empire. Meanwhile, Luke leaves them to find Yoda, the wisest Jedi master living on the mysterious planet Dagobah, who survived the notorious Jedi massacre initiated by Vader and the Emperor using his Clone army. He makes a crash landing on the planet and sets up camp. He soon meets Yoda. Yoda initially does not want to train him. Luke insists. So they begin their education. Luke learns a lot about the Force from Yoda. What he learns will guide Luke in his confrontation with his destiny and his encounter with Darth Vader.

Due to the damaged condition of the Millennium Falcon, he feels compelled to land. In the city of Cloud, which seems to be the closest place, he hopes that his old friend Lando Calrissian, a mining operator, will help him. They are warmly welcomed. Lando is too kind to Leia. However, nothing is as they think. Darth Vader, who has already blockaded the planet, awaits them. Luke interrupts his training because he senses Leia and Han are in danger. He sets out despite the insistence of Obi-Wan and Yoda, who are united with the Force. Yoda sees Luke missing, who hasn't completed his training and is still too weak to be quickly lured by the lure of the dark side of the force. Yet he is their last hope. Obi-Wan reminds that there is another one. Tortured by Vader, Han has an unfriendly conversation with Lando. Lando has made the choice for his city and its people. In fact, he says that it was all part of Vader's plan to trap someone named Skywalker. Han and Leia can't understand why Vader wants Luke.

Luke lands safely in Cloud City. From here he goes to Vader, who is waiting for him. Han Solo is frozen in the carbon freezer planned for Luke. It is taken as a cargo to be delivered to Jabba the Hutt. Lando bargains for Leia, but Vader doesn't stick to the deal. Ultimately, Lando helps Leia and her entourage escape and joins them. Luke sees Leia being taken away. It won't help him because of the fire the clones have opened. He soon comes face to face with Darth Vader. Luke is very early in his education and inexperienced. They duel and Luke loses his right hand. Vader first tells him about the Power provided by the dark side, and then reveals the fact that he is his father.

Luke refuses to believe it, with deep shock. Vader adds that with the dark side of the force, they can rule the galaxy together. In the end, Luke will either accept his offer or die. He uses his choice to throw himself off the platform on which he can hardly hold on. Luckily, he survives but hangs where he fell because he couldn't use one arm. He calls out first to Obi-Wan and then to Leia. The Millennium Falcon is about to leave the planet. In the cockpit seat, Leia hears Luke's voice calling her. Despite the huntsmen, the ship returns and they retrieve Luke from the platform. The next step is to save Han. As Lando and Chewbacca depart in the Millennium Falcon to meet, Luke and Leia watch them leave from their ship.

Conclusion:

This movie was very antipathetic to me at first. Weird creatures, making it look like a low-budget production, simple beam weapons, long-haired creature... I didn't like it when I came across it in trailers or elsewhere. But because of my interest in cinema and my desire to improve myself in cinema, I started watching the series. I watched them in chronological order, not by production date. Although it is simply a good side and bad side review, it is a movie that keeps you hooked. And the character of Darth Vader is the most impressive character because of the conflict between good and bad (like Gollum).
