Preacher: God is gone

With the last season of Dark fast approaching, Better Call Saul and Dark are the series I was most looking forward to this year. Currently I'm watching the Snowpiercer series, which is based on the movie of the same name, for now the series is not spectacular, but it entertains me a little. But I will talk about this series when it is finished, today I will talk a little bit about a series that finished last year, and it is based on a comic of the same name and although it is a pretty good series, little is talked about it and I think it was, that at least in the personal thing, its 4th and last season, it was not as good as the previous ones, but still it was entertaining and it had a quite emotional end.

Preacher, is a series based on the comic of the same name, I haven't read that comic yet, I haven't read any kind of comic for many years, I only read manga (which could be considered the Japanese comic). This series tells us the story of Jesse Custer, a preacher who by situations of the past has lost faith in God, so he has become a rather cynical and shameless person, although sometimes he tries to do things right (then throughout the seasons we will know his past and understand in measure why his behavior).

Also throughout the series we will know characters like: Tulip O'Hare, who is his old girlfriend and accomplice of robberies, but also enter the scene the one that more for me the best character of the series: Cassidy, he is a vampire, which, despite appearances, is not as bad as you might think and at the same time, is the character with more depth of the series.

The central point is that a great power escaped from heaven, called "Genesis" which is able to, with only a command from its bearer, force the "victim" to do whatever he wants, but this power has disadvantages, because if the person is deaf or does not speak the same language as the bearer of this power, it will not have any effect on him, yet it is a highly dangerous and desired power.

However, although this premise about a power that escaped from heaven itself is a very solid argument, the other central axis of this series is that God has fled from heaven and without Him at the helm, all heavenly organizations are succumbing to chaos. But there is something I didn't say, and that is that the person who served as the carrier of "Genesis" is obviously Jesse, the main protagonist, so now having that power and knowing the disappearance of God, his task now is to focus on his search so that in this way he can get the answers that have been affecting him for some time. However, this task will not be easy, because although he will have the help of Tulip O'Hare and Cassidy, God does not want to be found as he has a plan for humanity in place and on top of this, there is a religious organization that wants to obtain the power of "Genesis".

Preacher is an excellent series, with a quite dark sense of humor, but that is also some cases is quite absurd, even so, there will be many dramatic moments, of action, but above all, bloody moments, this series is quite gore, but always from the humorous side. In addition to the characters already mentioned, we will meet very picturesque, rare and charismatic characters.

The series in general seemed quite good, over the seasons (4 in total), we will know more of the past of our protagonists, although I think there were things in the story that were unfinished and that personally, the last season was not so good, was too hasty, but the last moments of the last chapter were quite emotional. I really recommend this series, it handles very well the sense of humor and action.

This series seems to far from my taste... haven't heard about it before, and don't think I will look for a way to stream it still. But, if we speak of angels and demons and so on... have you heard about the Amazon series Good Omens? It is a comedy, but still playing with the good and evil subject. Trailer can be found at:

No matter what, thanks for sharing!

I've only seen the first chapter of Good Omens, but I don't remember the reason why I didn't keep watching it, when I'm done watching Dark (which is coming soon) I'll watch it.
