"SEC | S19W4: Active and Fun Teaching Strategies"

In my own dear experience as an educator(Teacher), in creating an active and pretty fun classroom atmosphere has definitely and always been a top priority.

I vividly remember my dear specific time during my Teaching Practice at Ray-field International Secondary School in Uyo when I was assigned to help my chemistry class teacher Mr. Akanimo, then I embark on a new lesson on chemical reactions.

• The classroom here was really buzzing with genuine excitement and the energy as students was so actively participated in the experiments we did, asked many questions to understand well the concept, and shared too their own observations. It definitely was a day when indeed learning became an adventure.

1. Steps to Create an Active and Fun Classroom Atmosphere

The curious steps I took in the classroom to achieve active and fun atmosphere, I did used four unique strategies here:

1. Interactive Activities: I definitely started the day lesson with a smart and curiosity arising hands-on experiment where all my students did mix safe household chemicals to try observe reactions results. This really helps engaged their own curiosity in the concept and as well allowed them to really explore the subject in a best practical way.

2. Group Work: I then seconded my strategy by dividing the students into a pretty small groups and did gave each group here a different experiment sample and measurement to conduct. This indeed encouraged a massive teamwork and communication in them, as they all had to try share in ideas and really work together to achieve the best results.

3. Gamification: I did introduced a pleasing game where all my students earned a massive points for answering well any questions correctly and as well completing it's tasks. This very competitive element did motivated them all to participate more and more and also helped reinforce effectively the lesson in a fun way.

4. Storytelling: I finally tried the used of storytelling to also explain the complex concepts by much relating them to all of our everyday life. For this very instance, I definitely compared the chemical reactions to a baking a cake, which did made the topic here more relatable and so much easier to understand by some students who didn't still follow up.

2. Results of Implementing These Steps

• My dear colleagues! Surely after well implementing these unique and premium strategies, the out come results were so fantastic. All the he students definitely were not at all only actively involved alone but indeed were visibly happy and so much excited about learning the concept.

They did asked me insightful questions, so eagerly participated actively and happily in the activities, and as well expressed their genuine enjoyment of the lesson. I and my co-staff applaud the classroom atmosphere which was so lively and much filled with laughter and the enthusiasm. Thereby encourages all to try my Format.

3. Strengths and Weaknesses of the Strategies

The unique strengths of all these strategies were really evident basically how they massive engaged students are and which made learning much enjoyable. The Interactive activities among all and the group work did fostered an acceptable collaboration and much critical thinking skills.

Gamification as well added a fun element too that motivated all students, while as well storytelling made all complex topics easy to grasp and more accessible.

• However, definitely there were also some weaknesses in all. Managing a much lively classroom can so be challenging to many, and as well some students might definitely get too excited, as well leading to distractions in the class, that is why trying different strategies is important to help balance ⚖️ well the atmosphere. Also too, preparing in. for an interactive and fun lessons always requires an extra time and extra resources to really get a positive result.

Conclusion

Using of an active and fun teaching strategies can massively transform all the learning experience of each individual student, making it for all more and more engaging and so enjoyable for students. This helps them sees learning in an easy way to grasps.
While too there are some challenges, the positive impact perfectly on the students’ motivation and the understanding makes it all here a worthwhile.
