Hello Steemian friends!
Steem Atlas is one of the world maps that allows users to mark certain places of the places they have visited and provide detailed reviews of their experiences.
We expect people using Steem Atlas to make relevant posts as we do. The more complete, clear and detailed information you provide when you visit certain places, the better. The value of information is key, we are looking for quality not quantity. Therefore, on this occasion, I will explain 10 important steps as a guide before you use Steem Atlas.
1. Reviews must focus on one place
When you want to make a post for Steem Atlas make sure you review one place specifically and completely. Preferably, review places where information is needed by many people. Useful reviews will focus more on the most sought-after places, such as popular tourist attractions, famous restaurants, houses of worship, parks, hospitals, schools, colleges, shops, shopping centers, museums, zoos, and many other interesting places.
2. Don't review places like this
In my opinion, there are some places that I think are not important to review, namely places that are temporary or can move. Such as merchandise carts or street vendors that can move from one place to another. Just like night markets or festivals that are only held for a few days, in my opinion, these places do not need to be reviewed because they do not match what we expect in Steem Atlas.
3. Your own images
We encourage everyone to use their own images instead of other people's images, especially using images sourced from the internet. In addition, it would be great if you can share one of your photos or a selfie when you are in the place as supporting evidence.
4. Image Usage Ethics
When you use Steem Atlas, please pay attention to the use of images. You can include as many images as you like, but it is important to provide a detailed description of the image. The images you include should be relevant to the review you are creating.
We often come across users who share a lot of images without providing an in-depth review of their experience at the venue. This is not good for Steem Atlas. Therefore, make sure the images you use support the information you are conveying.
5. Address, social media and more
We always encourage Steem Atlas users to provide specific information of the places they visit, such as the full address of the place, for example, phone number, opening hours, link on Google Maps, website address, and social media accounts (e.g. Instagram, TikTok, Facebook). The more information you provide, the more useful it will be to others. Everything I mentioned above is not mandatory, but I think this information is important and needed.
6. Price to Steem Conversion
If you visit certain places such as restaurants, tourist attractions, shopping centers and others that incur costs, you can explain in detail about the costs you use and convert them in Steem. In addition, you can also review the service, atmosphere, and other small details that make your experience unforgettable.
7. Compare both Maps before deciding on a location PIN
Before creating a PIN to mark a location on Steem Atlas, please be careful. Compare the pin you want to add on the Steem Atlas map with the one on Google Maps. Precision in determining the location is very important to ensure accuracy. You can compare these two maps and make every effort to find a match between them.
Although the two maps have slightly different depictions, they still have significant similarities, so the best way to pinpoint a location is to always compare the two maps, pay attention to the shape of the roads, and important places adjacent to the location you want to mark.
8. PIN only contains the Place Name
Our team often finds people writing their location PIN exactly as the post title, which is clearly wrong and not what we expect. When writing a location PIN, make sure to only include the name of the place. Avoid adding unnecessary things. It's best to use the exact same place name as the one on Google Maps to avoid writing errors.
9. Proper Use of Hashtags
The last but not least step is the use of hashtags. We recommend that you use hashtags in the following order: country, city, and type of place. For example, # indonesia # jakarta # restaurant.
In addition, in the fourth position you should use the hashtag #steem-atlas, the use of specific hashtags will help others find your review and make it easier for us to verify your writing on the Steemit platform.
10. Support the Steem Atlas Project
Finally, we encourage everyone to support the growth of the Steem Atlas project by setting up beneficiaries to the @steem-atlas account. The suggested beneficiary level is 10%, but any amount greater or lesser would be greatly appreciated. We would also like to thank everyone who has been helping the project grow.
