My Favorite Lesson #1: “....[Encounter with Mrs Queen Monach on Broiler lesson]....”

in hive-167213 •  4 days ago

May I salute the amiable Smart teacher in this community @fajrularifst. I very very happy to share my lessons here.

While I was in school, there's this pretty teacher called Queen Monach*. She wasn't just a teacher—a role model in her community. She teaches Agricultural science. Queen Monach pattern of teaching drove me to becoming a lover of Agricultural science subjects.
Unlike before, I could see myself with some bulky lazy students playing rubbish games instead of reading, studying or making research on the course line.

From her teaching, I only could acknowledge agriculture as a medium for food supply. Meaning that, the bedrock for human survival on earth leans on Agriculture. So imagine a country without Agriculture is deserted and barren.

Briefly, let's take a look at few clues:

What was your favorite lesson in school, explain why you liked that lesson

How to rear broilers:

Rearing broilers was the most cheapest lesson I could afford learning. I know not everybody finds this simple, but I do. Like I said in my introduction, Queen Monach utilized the time she had in teaching me various life-trending entrepreneur courses that one can delve into and finds success.

According to her, to rear broilers. I need to consider the shelter as the priority, since shelter can primarily become a core ill factor to their weaknesses.

  1. Get a shelter for them. There must be ventilation. Not all-way-sealed structure. Give them normal house lights (yellow bulb). Not red or white. Red attracts them, make them see it as food. White introduces wet-state into their body, make them shiver in coldness.

  2. Get their feeding tray and drinking bough. Their feeding tray must be red. You can use any colour for the drinking bough (mostly white, black). For broilers, they have this strong notion that anything that comes from a red tray is more beautiful than any other colour. This is the only reason why rearers or farmers don't go to their zone with red materials, be it clothe, shoe, or whatever red.

I could remember the day I practicalize the lessons I was taught concerning this. Immediately I entered the shelter of this birds, I thank God I didn't go in fully. Omo! They all jumped on me, wanted to eat me, because they taught I was their breakfast. Sounds funny right? That's the real nature of broilers. So don't put on red while going to their farm to feed them or clean up dungs, they will think you're their food.

And the reason why you can't red bough to serve them water is just to avoid had I know kind of story. The moment they notice a red bough filled with water, remember all humans are not equal. That quotes is equivalent to broilers too. For the fact that they are not equal, they will want to jump into the bough, some will even climb the roof of the shelter and then want to excrete their waste products into the water. Come to think of that?

Those are few characters you'll noticed the moments you use a red bough to serve them water. Be careful.

  1. Give them vaccines. Mostly the chick. I mean the one you bought from another markets. Before you introduce them into your own farm, vaccinate them to avoid spread of environmental diseases.

  2. Always treat their water and foods. I can't remember now, but there are special elements (liquid or powdery) added to their feeds to make it consumable. Finds it from the store and give them.

  3. Quarantine the sick ones. Once there's a signal that one of the birds is sick. Please separate it. To quarantine means to separate and then give them one special treatments. Don't join them together with other healthy birds, their illnesses is likely to be airborne.

What achievements have you made with your favorite lesson?

I've learnt how to rear broilers from primary level. And with that lesson, I've also been able to teach others, direct and guide them on what to do to access growth.

Share memories with the teacher who taught the lesson

Mrs. Queen Monach. She is a queen in her community. She is good and very nice in teaching. From my own rating, I can boldly tag as woman of integrity, rated 100%.

23rd February, 2014. I returned from my late grandma burial. It was very had for me to survive the wounds of various teachers who didn't even want to hear my own story. They wanted me to sort out my way since I didn't meet up the examination. This was really against my kind of fate. And so I refused paying up. Queen Monach actually gave me a surplus without even paying.

She understood everything about my absents and therefore conducted another exam. I wrote it and I got everything very well.

Share the material you like/are good at from the lesson, give an explanation so we can understand it too

Broilers are unique birds, different from agric fowl or hen. They are conservative. They don't move or walk anyhow. They are treated specially. Their feed are different from that of hen, cock or fowls (depending on how you describe it). In the sense of belonging, I think broilers are the silver spoon made also known as the rich kids, while others are poor kids.

When teachers kind us or pay their attention to us, we love that teacher's subject. This let us gain much marks in that subject. However, my passion for sports and outdoor education makes me love my subject.

That's your own view. That's good too. Teachers are models. Anyone that loses it impacts can't model us

With the knowledge provided by your teacher, are you now a successful chicken farmer?

Yes of course. I can boldly give myself this tag now

This is a new knowledge for me about how to breed broilers, and it turns out that red is their favorite color.

So how is the feeding pattern? How many times a day? How many portions? Sorry for asking so many questions because I am very new to farming and animal husbandry.

You are very lucky to have a teacher like Queen Monach, she is so loving and has such a noble heart. How is she doing now?

Queen Monach is good.

The feeds are measured and divided into morning, afternoon and evening. So you feed them three times daily.

The reason for this regulation is to avoid contamination. Some birds are so annoying, in the process of trying to feed on their food, they can stool in the process
