My Resumption Plans for the new academic year

Happy new year my dear steemians from steem teachers and students community. I am proud of being here as a teacher in this community. Hope you are enjoying with your students this new term like I do here. I want to thank @nsijoro for organizing this contest so I can tell the world my plans for my students this new term. In this post, I am going to tell you the plans I have made for this academic session and how I am going to achieve them. Please stay with me let's begin.

How was your short break?

Short break? There wasn't a short break for me after closing in December. This was because of the SS3 we were preparing for exams, that is, the up coming excams in April and May this year (UTME and SSCE). In my school, it has become a culture to drill the students preparing for external examination in summer lesson. Therefore, throughout the period, I was with my students for a summer class.

Are you resuming today, 6th January, or how and when are you resuming?

Yes, we have resumed on the 6th January already. We resumed with a staff workshop, preparing the staff for the new term. New and old staff were given orientation on the activities this new term. For instance, this term's activities have been earmarked for a successful term. These activities are inter-house sport competition, cultural celebration, external examinations, parent-teacher interaction day, etc.

Immediately after the meeting, I sat down to plan my work and set my goals for the new term.

What's your plan for this new academic session/resumption from the break? (What goals do you set, and how are you going to achieve them?)

I have put down a lot of plans for this second term already. One, my lesson notes, must be written up to week six before I start teaching. Teaching starts next week officially. I must use instructional materials especially audio-visual in my lesson so as to make my lesson clearer and understood by my students.

For goals, I have set my goals. One of the goals I have set this term is that all my students who are writing Senior Secondary Certificate Examination will have Alphas in their results. To achieve this, I will divide them (10 students) into two small groups where i will have extra lesson with for one hour each day after school. I will do this for a week and then give them homework and then solve past questions together. Before exams, we must have covered 10 years past questions.

I also seek to start my Post Graduate Diploma in Education. This will take one year. I intend to complete it at the end the year. I have registered for it already. I will pay school fees next week. I have scheduled my time for a class on weekends. I want to add value to my work. With God's grace, I will achieve these goals.

So far I have seen that your plans for the next academic session is very detailed, you didn't go for a short break because of the responsibility of making sure final year secondary school students are well fit for the coming exams, this is very important and I am sure most of them will sit for JAMB examination as well, covering 10 years past question is your target I hope you achieve that, attaining education advancement is profitable for an increased knowledge and a refreshing experiences, PG in education will fit you well, I pray your student come out with alphas..
