Micro Teaching. Lesson plan.

Hello brilliant minds and teachers all over the globe. It is yet another engagement week, which this time around we will be discussing on an amazing topic choose by the team "Micro cheating". In the first week we were task to prepare a sample lesson plan and present.

This time, I will be presenting a mini lesson in a short time frame with aim to foster learning to students in all demain irrespective of their different capabilities. Making sure everyone is on the same level and understand properly.

My lesson will be on a simple topic in mathematics. Which is Relations, let's begin.

Lesson plan
Plan of work

Tutors name:@rafk
Grade12
Class capacity20 total
Subject:Mathematics
Date15/07/2024
Topic:Relations and functions
Lesson 1:Relations
Duration :20 minutes
Objectiveat the end of this lesson, learners should be able to: •> state all the properties of a relation. •> Give definition for each. •> State conditions for equivalent and partial order relation.
Material:chalk, chalkboard ,
Prerequisite:
recall:in our previous lesson, we saw the various ways to solve quadratic equations.
Question 1:i will like someone to state the various methods to resolve quadratic equations.
Student 1:Factorization, formula and graphical methods.
Question 2:which method is use to resolve complex quadratic equations?
student 2:Formula method
Activity time: 3 minutes
Introduction :
°Relations is a simple way in which something is related to another. It could be friends, two things equal or one greater than another. When special properties combine it become a type of relation.
Presentation:
°properties of relation; réflexive aRa => a=a, symmetric aRb = bRa transitive aRb, bRc => aRc and antisymmetric aRb, bRa => a=b., a,b,c€R
Types of relation:equivalent and partial order relation.
Equivalent relationcombination of réflexive, symmetric and transitive
Partial order relation:combination of réflexive, antisymmetric and transitive
Activity time:10 minutes
Summary-Conclusion
°the four properties of a relation are: réflexive, symmetric, transitive and antisymmetric.. Equivalent relation= réflexive symmetric and transitive. Partial order relation= réflexive antisymmetric and transitive.
Activity time5 minutes
Assessment
°state all four properties of a relation. Given the relation aRb = cRd => d/b= c/a, NxN, a,b,c,d€R. Show that it is an equivalent relation.
Key wordR = relation, €R = belongings to set of real numbers, N×N = multiplication of natural numbers

Assuming while teaching my students what are the steps i took to ensure they are focused on hearing me, and if for any reason there was a distraction how was i able to tackle the issue?

To ensure effective learning, I was able to Bridge the word, into simple form using the competence based approach method which is based on teaching Learners based on things around us, such as referring examples which are common among us or referring to things we use in our daily life.

After lesson. With my students

Let's say for example a number 7 relating to 7 that is: 7R7 emplies 7 = 7 since any number is equal to itself. Which is a for a réflexive property. Another way we could put this is by taking two oranges of the same size, shape and color,. If we relate them, we will see that 1 orange is exactly equal to the order.

By breaking the work into simple form relating to real life, my students were able to pay maximum concentration. While the lesson was going on and there were so eager to know what is next.

However, a few students at the backseat weren't giving me maximum attention , in order to resolve this, I move them to the first bench. And this position they had no option to make noise but rather concentrate. The rest of the lesson was able to go on hitch free.

Recall that I have 20 minutes assigned to me to deliver my lecture or to teach the students, how was I able to manage the time?

Time management source

That's correct. The time allocation for this lesson was due for 20 minutes, Which is quite minimal time for a proper lesson. Not withstanding, remember we are working on a micro lesson, Which is supposed to be easy and take less time.

Going back to work, I started by recalling my students On the previous lessons. They themselves where able to give me previous knowledge on our last class. I was really excited they were able to record that much. So it didn't take long.

Moving on to our new lesson, my work was organized in its simplest form in such a way that it will fit in my allocated time. Everything was summarized and put in simple form for a better understanding of the students. I am happy they were able to understand it more better.

I won't complain. I got shot of time or it was much, but I would rather say the time a location was just okay enough to take the lesson through to the end.

To conclude, Crafting a well-designed lesson plan is like building a sturdy bridge. By thoughtfully integrating the elements we discussed today, you can create a lesson plan that effectively guides your students towards a deeper understanding.

A reminder, a strong plan is a flexible one, adaptable to the unique needs of your students. So, embrace the journey of lesson plan design, and watch your students flourish academically.

I now invite the following persons to join me participate in this contest. @chant, @patjewell and @wirngo.

Hey @rafk

This is an interesting post to read and I commend you for sharing this with us!

Writing a lesson plan to dish out lesson to learners in a class room is very necessary for a productive time spent. I must say that you have written well and you have shared what you know about writing a lesson plan as well as showing an explaining how to manage challenges why teaching in the class and using the time allocated appropriately. I can see that as a teacher is this easy for you to write this post...

In the area of using the term allocated which is 20 minutes I like the fact that you mentioned that the class was solely based on micro teaching not macro teaching. For a proper lesson to be carried out in a classroom the normal time that should be given is 45 minutes and so since in this settings the time given is 20 minutes, it has to be concise short and hitting the nail on the head rightfully. Also we should not forget to use our time wisely....

Good choice of subjects and topic thanks for sharing and good luck with the challenge

Greetings. My friend.
Speaking from academic perspective, 45 to 50 minutes is correct. But when we are specify to work in a time frame. We adjusted the combasome of the lesson to a summary.

Thanks for your interaction

Well done!
How I wish I could have sent my son to attend your classes. Not only would he be sitting in the front row, but he wouldn't be able to tell me that the lesson was so long and he got bored. (•ิ‿•ิ)

Nice job!

Good luck with the contest, and thank you for the invitation.

Thanks ma'am. I sure he'd enjoy my lessons pretty much. 😊

Be on the lookout for a speedy delivery service knocking on your door. (•ิ‿•ิ)

Thank you ma'am ☺️. Waiting

Greetings friend,

Very well done on the post that you have written, no doubt you have to listen a difficult subject to teach actually it is difficult for me because in my childhood I did not like mathematics very much but as you are a very good teacher and your lesson plan is very well structured I must say that your students are very lucky to have you and this all every problem of the mathematics with your help.

Very nice job, and the picture in which you are with your student just looks my heart I must say that children have his picture very close to they are hard because everyone lost their teacher.

I wish you success for this contest.

That's right ma'am. The love is great. It makes me wanna go teach them every day

Hello friend
You really shared how much relation means bringing it in the mot simple way to the kids. Your work was really an outstanding one, very neat and pleasant to the sight. You attended to grade 12 and I believe they really enjoyed having you in the class seeing the pictures taken as shown above. Time constraint remains a major issue and I'm glad you found was to tackle it amidst all odds. I enjoyed your article and success remains your in the dynamics from here on in.

That's true friend. Time management is really essential in lesson plans. I try as much as possible to stay in the allocated time

Thank you, friend!

Hello friends,

overall you made a very interesting lesson plan. I think the interaction you build with students will make the class conditions pleasant in following the lessons you convey. I also like the way you control the class by changing the position of students who sit at the back to the front, it is an extraordinary class change in my opinion. Thus indirectly students will focus on you and the material presented. In time management you are also able to design it well and of course in the application will also go well.

success for your challenge this time

Yes ma'am. It's a strategy I use frequently especially. The stubborn ones

Me agradó cómo manejaste de manera hipotética los posibls comportamientos de los estudiantes, mientras les explicabas el contenido de la clase. La estrategia de pasar a los estudiantes que se encuentran de último para los primeros puestos es muy buena.

Me encantó leerte. Te deseo suerte.

Thanks so much ma'am. It works perfectly.

Pelajaran matematika adalah pelajaran yang membosankan pada anak, anak saya duduk di belakang tidak akan antusias mendengar guru menjelaskan, sehingga guru mesti mencari cara agar semua siswa memperhatikannya. Good job... Anda berhasil membuat siswa menjadi lebih fokus..

Greetings my friend @rafk!

It's fantastic how you managed time effectively despite a short frame ⏰. Your strategy to move distracted students to the front seats made them focus better 📚. Great job keeping everyone engaged and learning! 👏
