Researchers have been able to uncover a load of interesting facts about the concept of intelligence. We have not yet grasped it fully, but we have made quite some progress. Here is a few things we have discovered that are relevant to our topic.

There are a lot of research that has been made on these topic that has proven that what we eat indeed affects how smart we are.
For example a 2016 research, courtesy of University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, proved that consumption of a certain pigment found in plant's leaves increased brain health and intelligence in adults. Another similar study published in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health, stated that poor nutrition affects intelligence of growing children.
Another study revealed that red wine when drunk in moderation has the capacity to stimulate intelligence and creativity.
So how does all these benefit us?
By knowing the fact that what you eat affects the way your mind and brain functions will make you to choose carefully what to eat. Of course intelligence is one of the most sought after qualities by humans. Every one wants to be labelled "smart".

First I want to establishe that you shouldn't expect to develop the intellectual capabilities of Einstein once you consume these foods a few days. Some take months to effect the changes. But that is also determined by the quantity of such foods as we eat. So if you want a boost to your intelligence, here are a few foods to consume.
#. Fish ( Salmon)
Research has discovered that fish, especially salmon is packed with omega-3 fatty acids. Deficiency of omefa-3 fatty acids can lead to fatigue, mood swings and memory loss. If salmon isn't available you can try tuna or halibut.
#. Avocado
Avocado is a common fruit that contains high levels of monounsaturated fatty acids. According to research, these fatty acids may help keep nerve cells in the brain healthy. In addition to that avocado contains 20 different vitamins, including potassium, and lutein which not only helps in boosting the brains capacity but also help control blood pressure, and protects the eyes.

Research has uncovered the fact that nuts can protect against some aspects of age-related cognitive decline. This is because they contain vitamin E and also omega 3 fatty acids.
Walnuts are the best nuts to eat in this regard. This is because they contain contain vitamin B6, which aids in the production of serotonin and norepinephrine, the chemicals responsible for the transmision signals in the brain.

According to research results, berries especially blueberries and strawberries can help to slow the rate of cognitive decline in adults.Berries also contain high concentration of flavonoids, an antioxidant that may possess antihistamine-, antimicrobial-, memory-, and mood-enhancing properties

Experts have discovered that chocolate has the ability to boost cognitive function and health.
In a study conducted, the effects of cocoa especially flavonol, a natural compound found in chocolate were studied. About 60 people between 67 and 77 years old were made to drink hot cocoa twice a day for a month. It was discovered that chocolate boosts the brain supply, providing it with more fuel to carry on with it's functions.
