Today my sister and I made soaps...Oat and chamomile soap,I'll lead you through the process.
First, sterilize your working tools
INGREDIENTS NEEDED:
- Shea butter
- Olive oil
3.coconut oil - Castor oil
- Distilled water
- Sodium hydroxide
- Oatmeal
- Chamomile
PROCEDURE:
You measure out the ingredients needed, according to receive.
Pour out 50ml of distilled water and add your chamomile flower into it and heat up the water using the double boiling method,when the water turns brown your chamomile tea is ready,and you seive it out. Add more distilled water to the chamomile tea to get the required quantity of water for soap making.
3.Prepare your lye solution by mixing your sodium hydroxide with your now chamomile tea distilled water.
- Melt your Shea butter using double boiling method
- Allow it to cool then mix with other oils.
- After the lye solution has cooled for thirty minutes,using a stick blender dipped into your oils gently pour the lye solution down your stick blender into the oils to avoid forming bubbles
- Stir gently turning on your stick blender at intervals,until you achieve light or medium trace
- Add desired quantity of collidial oatmeal and stick blender to mix properly
Finally you pour into your sterilized mould
Designed soap top as desired then spray with 99% isopropyl alcohol
Cover it to insulate
Let it stay for 24hrs before you bring out of the mould and cut,then leave for 4 to 6 weeks to cure before use.
