Port Harcourt also known as 'Pitakwa' is the capital and largest city of Rivers State, Nigeria. Port Harcourt is the 5th largest city in Nigeria after Lagos, Kano, Ibadan and Benin-city and is located in the Niger Delta( South-South geopolitical zone) of Nigeria.

Port Harcourt was founded by Frederick Lugard in the year 1912 and is often referred to as the oil capital is known for it's petroleum exports, crude oil reserve and natural gas. Port Harcourt also produces steel, glasses, paper and bottles. Port Harcourt city is also referred to as Garden city because of the beauty of it's environment.

I love Port Harcourt so much because of its beautiful tourist centres such as; The Garden City Amusement park, Port Harcourt Pleasure Park, Port Harcourt Zoo, Cultural Centre and so on. Port Harcourt city is also known for it's popular Bole and fish ( roasted plantain and roasted fish), it is a meal no one would want to miss and the meal has a festival called Bole festival. I also love my Port Harcourt City because inhabitants of this city speaks English language as a general language and one can hardly distinguish between indigenes and non-indigenes unlike other cities where they speak their native dialect as a general language thereby encouraging tribalism.

The best place to live in Port Harcourt city is Olive Crest Estate because the area is always clean and free from pollution (both air and noise), the level of security in this area is also top notch with lovely building and beautiful environment. The area is also free from flood during heavy rainfall with adequate power supply.

I also love my city because it has popular slangs such as;

Aboby: means guy

Comot ur body: means give chance

Root out: means to bring out something especially weapon

kpor well: usually used during confrontation

Die it: means shut up and so many others .

The most awful moment i have had since i started living in Pitakwa was during the first lockdown due to the corona virus outbreak. It was really unbearable moment for myself and my family since it came unannounced. Feeding was a very big problem at that time because sellers were not allowed to sell, plus they were saving food stuffs for themselves and their families too because no one knew when the lockdown would be over, even the few people that sold from home sold at a very costly price, i think that period is easily the most awful moment for me.

I'm inviting @graceyjossy, @phaithy and @labgirlonlens for this contest.
