In my blog today I will be writing on a delicacy that is most valued by the northerners and the national facts.
One of the northern special tradition dessert in Nigeria is soya beans cake.
Soya beans ready to be processed
I wouldn't mind if I can be eating it every day, is one of my favourite, my family members knows , soybean cake is also called awara in Hausa
Health benefits of soybeans
- High in fibre
- High in protein
- Low in saturated fat
- Cholesterol free
- Lactose free
- Good source of omega3 fatty acids
- A source of antioxidants
- High in phytoestrogens
The biggest benefits of soybean come when they are eaten as replacement for food like red meat.
Ingredients
Soya-beans
Water
Groundnut oil
Seasoning cubes and salt
Onion
Fresh pepper.
Procedures
Step 1 sock the soya- beans.
Step 2 grind the soya beans
At the grinding mill
Step 3 sieve it
Sieving mode
Step 4 allow it to settle down
Step 5 gently pure the water out
Step 6 turn the tick soya beans paste inside a siever
Step7 tie the mouth of the sever very well in other for the soybean paste not to pour. After which it will be tick.
NB: use a heavy thing like stone to place on the sieve this will help to drain out the water fast.
Step8 turn soybean inside the a bowl

Step 9 slice it to the Sharp you want
Step10 pound the ingredients pepper, Maggi cube and salt and spread it on it ,slice the onion pure the onion inside the groundnut oil that was on fire, then start frying the soybean.
Now the cake is ready for consumption, please do come and eat with me as there is love in sharing.

That's impressive! Your recipe is very detailed. The English word for Awara is tofu. It is often better to use tofu rather than soybeans cake. Thanks for sharing

This is an interesting recipe, never heard of it before. I bet it tastes very delicious from the looks.
How long do you soak the bean and do you grind it when it is still soaked?
