I am delighted to welcome you to Steemit Crypto Academy, the best place to learn about Cryptocurrencies and get rewarded as well. Now that you are getting ready to be enrolled into the academy, there are a few things you would need to know about this program. So as one of the Academy Promoters, I would like to take you on a tour so you can have a good knowledge of the institution. Once again, I extend a warm welcome to you. My name is Charles. Introduction to Steemit Crypto Academy

Steemit Crypto Academy is an educational program designed and run by the Steemit Team. The Academy is a place where students learn about cryptocurrencies and related blockchain technology using a well structured approach. Once you qualify and get enrolled in the Academy, you have began a journey towards obtaining valuable knowledge of cryptocurrecies and you get rewarded for being an outstanding student.

Just like every other Academic institution, Steemit Crypto Academy have instructors that handle various courses on a weekly basis. These instructors are mostly referred to as Professors. The Professors are responsible for producing courses for each week, giving out assignments for each course and rating students homework.

The Academy usually runs in seasons. Each season is approximately 8 weeks long. After each season, students that did excellently well receive more rewards and recognition. These students are usually called Season SuperStars. Before the next Academy season, necessary changes are made to various areas of the academy such as the Professors, student requirements or even the rewards. The last Season was Season 3. The next Season being Season 4 will begin in a matter of days from today (2/9/2021).

The Academy Professors

The Professors are basically responsible for making courses in the Crypto Academy. These Professors are selected after going through a vetting process to ensure they are most qualified to do the job. Professors that pass the selection process have demonstrated deep understanding of cryptocurrencies and a practical knowledge of blockchain technology. Hence, they are chosen to run the academy.

The Work of Professors

A Professor performs at least 3 roles in the Academy:

• Produce Courses Weekly: Each Professor writes and publishes cryptocurrency courses weekly.
• Give out Homeworks: After publishing a course, each professor also includes an assignment at the end of his course to test students ability or level of understanding of the course. The assignments are also called homeworks.
• Rate Students homework: Each student writes and submits their home work for the professor to rate it. Homeworks are rated on a scale of 1 - 10. Homeworks rated 5 and above are rewarded with votes. Those rated below 5 failed the course and receive no reward from the Steemit team.

The Promoters

Crypto Academy Promoters are the selected individuals whose job is to create awareness for the Academy. They were selected having demonstrated a good knowledge of cryptocurrencies and blockchains. The Promoters use various media such as print or electronic to reach out to new people, guide them to Sign Up and assist them to qualify and enroll into the academy. They are basically marketers of Steemit Crypto Academy.

The Courses

Each week, Professors are assigned in pairs to produce courses for the Academy. There are 3 level of courses produced to match the comprehension level of students in the Academy. They are as follows:

• The Beginners Level Courses: These are courses designed for people that are new to cryptocurrencies. The beginner courses are not too technical. They feature fundamental cryptocurrency concepts that a new person can easily understand. For now, there are 6 fixed beginner level courses which new comers can start from. Over a period of 8 weeks ago, 2 new beginner courses were produced by professors each week.

Note: You can only attempt the fixed courses once.

• The Intermediate Level Courses: These are courses designed for students that have spent considerable time in the beginner level courses. By then, they have gotten the basics of cryptocurrencies and now aim to grow their knowledge. In the last 8 weeks, 3 new Intermediate level courses have been produced each week.

• The Advanced Level Courses: These courses are designed for students that have gained sufficient knowledge and practical experience of cryptocurrencies. The courses in this level requires deep understanding of the use and features of blockchain tools. New students of the academy are generally advised to spend enough time in the beginner and intermediate level courses before attempting advanced level courses.

Student homework

As a student of the academy, you are expected to do assignments after studying each course. These assignments - called homeworks - are rated by each professor you took their course. The homeworks must be submitted within the week or before the end of the week (Saturday).

After going through each homework, the Professor will publish a comment under the homework to rate it. As explained earlier, homeworks rated 5 and above are rewarded with votes. Those rated below 5 did not make the pass mark. So they are not rewarded.

Each student is allowed to attempt any of the various level courses if they meet the entry requirements. However, it is best to start from the beginner level especially if they do not have background knowledge of cryptocurrencies.

Each homework post must be published in the Steemit Crypto Academy Community. The homework post must have appropriate tags and title as instructed by each professor at the end of their course or in the Courses update post published each week by the Steemit team.

Getting Rewarded

Homeworks rated 5 and above receive corresponding rewards in form of votes from @steemcurator01 or @steemcurator02. This is how students of the academy receive support and reward for their hard work. The higher the rating, the bigger the votes.

Each week, the pair of professors for each course will nominate 3 best performing students. These 3 receive additional rewards in form of votes in their nominated posts.

Additionally, at the end of each season, Students that wrote the highest number of homeworks and scored highest average grades receive additional reward as Season Super Stars

Academy Rules and Entry Requirements

Steemit Crypto Academy has rules for enrolled students as well as entry requirements for aspiring students. Lets start from the Entry Requirements for new users.

Entry Requirements

Each new person that just Signed up on Steemit must meet the following criteria to before they qualify to attempt any of the following courses levels.

For Beginner Level Courses

• Must have completed Achievement 4 of the tasks for New Comers
• Must have a Reputation of at least 50
• Must have at least 150 Steem power (Not Delegated)

For Intermediate Level Courses

• Must have a Reputation of at least 55
• Must have at least 250 Steem power (Not Delegated)

For Advanced Level Courses

• Must have a Reputation of at least 60
• Must have at least 500 Steem power (Not Delegated)

Academy Rules

• Plagiarism: Copying materials written by others and using them as your own is called plagiarism. It is the same as stealing. If you are caught doing that, you will be banned from the Academy after warnings are given. All images or texts which are not yours must be properly referenced. This includes images and videos too.

• Spinning of Articles: If you use any tools to re-write other people's work and publish as your own, that is considered cheating and would attract stiff punishment. Cheating of any kind should generally be avoided.

• Length of Homework Posts: Each homework post needs to be of considerable length. A minimum of 300 words is generally recommended.

How to Enroll plus further help

The first thing to do is to Sign up on Steemit if you have not already done so. If you have, write your first post which the Introduction post. Try to join an active community like @steemalive community where you will receive the mentorship and support to grow. Once your achievement 1 post is verified, head over to Achievement 2. As you learn about Steemit through these achievement posts, you can participate in contests and other writing engagements.

Season 4 of Steeemit Crypto Academy launches in the next few days. As we discussed earlier, changes are made ahead of a new season. So I will quickly update this post to reflect any changes that would be made to the academy as the new Season4 Kicks off.
