Hello fellow steemians, I feel great to be here with distinguished colleagues like you. Hope our day is moving on as planned.
I and my wife thank God so much that we are alive today. It is unfortunate that I have never written for some days now, due to the big wound I had on my right finger ,but thanks to God that I am recovering after taking some treatment.
I woke around 5:30am with my wife and we said my prayers. Since the wound I had in my finger is as good as healed, I am going to do some work. Right after taking the Lemon grass tea, we went to the farm to harvest cassava, which will be used for producing garri.
I went with my wife , while I was harvesting the cassava, my wife was gathering them together. After harvesting, I started carrying them out to where it will be bagged in big sack and carried them home.
These are some of the pictures while we were in the farm.

It took us up to three hours to finish the work. when we came back home we started peelng them. We stopped for a moment to enjoy our breakfast.
To prepare the cassava for food takes so many processes,
First, you will have to peel off the brown cover
Secondly, you wash of the dirts attached to the peeled one with clean water.
Thirdly, you grind the washed cassava, after grinding, you put them in a sack, and squeez out all the water in until it becomes dry. This takes about two days. This process allows the cassava to ferment, taking off toxic substances through the water that is squeezed off in this process. There is a machine used in doing that.
Finally, it will be sifted and fried in the fire until iit becomes food, you will fry it until it is dried and done, but not burnt. In my place, we still use a firewood with a locally constructed clay dome. On top of which, you place the frying pan and light the fire with firewood under it. You vary the intensity of the fire depending on how you are able to control its effect on the grinded cassave you are frying, until is done.
The frying bein done.
In my place you can use it in so many ways, can be soaked with water, and dranked with fried groudnut, using milk and sugar, can also be eaten with a nicely prepared soup of your choice. It is a tradition delicacy always available in any traditional occasion.
Next , we planned attending inter house competition of one secondary school called Gabek international academy. While we were preparing, there came a heavy wind and rain, which lasted for three hours, disrupting all the planned school activities.
Heavy downpour
The heavy wind caused many damages, pulling off some roofs, zincs, causing many damages on our crops like corn and cassava when I went later to check on the farm, The most painful thing is the carrying away of the roof of a widows house who has no helper. What a disaster it was! My community suffered much from the rainfall and heavywind. I even had to use some roofing sheets to assist her work on her roof.
By the time the rain stopped, it was already late into the evening. The school postponed the interhouse competition, we just ate and went to bed. That was how my activity went.
Thank you all for going through my post, hope you enjoyed it.
