VIRTUES AND VICES

INTRODUCTION

There is a difference between virtue and vices. Virtue are positive character while vices are negative character. More on vices will be discussed in this post.

Virtues are qualities that are morally good while the exact opposite
vices are immoral, wicked habits of human characteristics. In every environment we find ourselves as human beings, there is usually a struggle between virtues and vices to dominate our behavior.

But we must understand that when ours lives are characterized by virtues, we will be referred to as good citizens of our society while for vices will make us be seen as bad citizens of our society, Individuals can promote virtuous lifestyle such that is characterized by honest, respect, truthfulness, kindness, empathy, etc.

But we are not dwelling on the virtues but rather on the

VICES

Common Vices and Their Meaning:

1. Stealing:

The act of taking something that belongs to somebody else without the owner's permission. This is a very serious habit that will destroy anyone who practices it.

2. Lying:

Saying something that is untrue just to decieve somebody. This will betray people's confidence in you and it will affect your relationship with honest people who would have rendered necessary help to you.

3. Arrogance:

Disregard for other people because you Feel you are more important than them. Arrogance is a very serious social problem that will make reasonable people not want to associate with you.

4. Hatred:

A feeling of intense dislike or resentment towards somebody or something. It is hatred that makes somebody want to hurt another person, it's a bad behaviour.

5. Deceit:

This is the act of doing anything to mislead others. Avoid people with this character because they will mislead you to following their bad ways.

6. Selfishness:

It means being concerned with your own interest, needs and wishes while ignoring those of others.

7. Anger:

A strong feeling of grievance and displeasure. Anger is dangerous for as a person because it will scare good people from you.

8. Rudeness:

An ill-mannered behaviour (doing things without showing politeness or consideration for others). Rudeness is a very bad behaviour that can make person earn a bad name.

9. Pride:

A feeling of superiority, a haughty attitude shown by somebody, who believes, often justifiably that he/she is better than others.

CONCLUSION

This is the list of some known vices, we sure do find ourselves in one of this listed whether intentionally or otherwise. We should learn them and try to stop practicing them. It will add up so much to our chance of doing well in life.
