It is no news that the Nigerian youth is one of the most hard working human on the face of the earth. take him anywhere he sure knows how to survive. the question now is why do we have lots of youth doing so many wrong things and feel like they have to impress there family, friends and loved one?
I will be talking about a few things that are holding the Nigerian youth from flying in his lifes pursit in Nigeria.
1 - the family
2 - peer pressure
THE FAMILY- The family is the first institution that a child gets to meet as he grows up and it is very important that the family plays its role without any excuses.many times we see that the family has failed in doing the right thing in the hustle of the Nigerian youth, thereby forcing him into people and places where he is not suppose to be.let me tell you a little story -A young man by the name Micheal came from a poor home, in his quest to hustle and make things easy for the family he learned a skill. Micheal became a good fashion designer. Every one was happy it was a big family celebration becasue he is from a very large family. three weeks of hime getting a shop for him self he had about five (5) family members bring in there clothes. After sleepless nights just to meet up with the deadline, each one of them came and said our son the clothe is fine oo thank you and God bless you.that was all he got and they justified it as him been there son. the same reason why so many people dont do business with family members because they sure most times dont know how to appericiate services given by another family member.
PEER PRESSURE -This is one part that has affected the Nigerian youth. we ahve youths who will want to impress there friends with a certain level of success leading most of them to do things that are very wrong even to the very one that has been true to what he has been been doing. Everyone at one point of his life has felt this pressure and i can tell you that it is something that you can not break out from unless you have a very strong conviction to what ever you do and that one it will pay off.
In our struggle to make it as young Nigerians always remember that the world is waiting for you to show what you have, regardless of your background, if you see it you can get it.
