Hi members of the @steemalive Community.I am glad to participate in this contest.I thank our founder @focusnow for hosting this contest.

A journey of my root(origin) shows I am a citizen of Nigeria;a native of Imo State;an indigene of Eziudo in MBAISE.

MBAISE is a village in IMO state,Nigeria. It has three local governments namely:
Ezinihitte Mbaise LGA.
Ahiazu Mbaise LGA. and
Aboh Mbaise LGA.

I hail from Eziudo which is in Ezinihitte Mbaise LGA.

UNIQUE EVENTS ABOUT EZIUDO,MBAISE
There are lots of fascinating event about my place.I will state it as follows:

FOOD:

MBAISE is known for many types of food. However,we are specially known for preparing oil bean(Ugba).Ugba is a protein rich food which is always prepared in EVERY event in our land.

DIALECT
Our dialect is basically the Igbo language.Though we have a special way of speaking some words and phrases in our own native language.

MARRIAGE

Marriage in Mbaise is always a joyful process. The groom will have to pay bride prize to the bride's family and few other things like yam, stockfish, rice.
Marrying from Mbaise is not expensive,it's very moderate and enjoyable.

FESTIVAL

We have a lot of festivals but the prominent one is called OJI MBAISE.....It is done on the 1st of January every year.

It is a very big festival which features masquerade and masqueraders.

However, the high point of OJI MBAISE is the picking or carrying of OJI(kolanut) by different communities. Each community will come with their masquerade and selected chiefs and their traditional ruler, they will dance to the podium and then carry their own OJI(kolanut) ..It will continue in that order until all the villages have carried their OJI.

The next OJI MBAISE will hold on the 1st of January,2021.

I am proud of my root.
