Introduction

Its time to bring to our lovely friends and the Steemit team update number 2. The update posts are important ways to keep everyone abreast of developments in the community. This make is easy for members to track anything they have missed. It is also a way to measure growth of the community through the projects it executes.

Here are some of the important activities that happened in the community in the last 7 days.

1. SteemAlive Community Impact Network (SIM)

We launched a brand new project called SteemALive Community impact Network. The essence of this project is to advance the community mission in a different way. SteemAlive is probably the first community designed exclusively for Steem Promotion in Nigeria. Through SIM, we wish to deviate from the traditional approach of just creating awareness. We want to add value to our target potential recruits by doing something for them in the name of Steemit. That way, it will be easy for our message of invitation to sink in since they became beneficiaries even before joining.

We are in advanced preparations now to launch the first Project under SIM in the next few days. You can read more about the SIM project below:

2. Climbing the Steemit Coorporate ladder

We normally hold 3 classes in a week. This week, our first class was all about how to grow and become valuable on Steemit. Our poin of focus was through Steem Promotion. The class stressed the importance of Steem Promotion and why it is one of the fastest ways to grow on the platform. We used the opportunity to propose our first project under SIM to our members. Expectedly, they were happy with the new project and cant wait for it to kickoff in Aba this week. We will announce this first SIM project before this weekend. 3. Cryptoacademy Open happiness Week 7

Each week, we not only run a class strictly to help students do well in cryptoacademy homeworks, we also show support to students of the previous week by sending some steem to them. Any of our community members that participated and scored between 4 and 6 is eligible forat least 5 Steem gift from the communty. This project has helped create a lot of awareness for the cryptoacademy and many members of the community are now doing well in the academy.

Last week, we made a post and invited our members to drop their week 7 links and 3 persons did as follows:

We have gone through their work and rewarded each of them with at least 5 Steem depending on the number of assignments attempted. Here is a screenshot of the support

4. We powered up 550 Steem and hit 12k Steem Power

We do not just encourage our members to power up, we do so too in order to build our community account more. We just powered up 550 Steem and have hit the 12k SP mark. Its really a thing of joy to grow gradually and steadily over time. Below is a screen grab of our powerup.

5. Still growing our community Trail

We have built our community voting weight through the curation trail system. By pulling resources together in this way, we have been able to support member posts with $3 - $4 curation trail votes. We are still the most followed community trail and we hope to grow more in voting weights through powerups. Before the week runs out, we will announce a return of our Powerup project, although with a slight change.

6. City Coordinator Reports for the Week

Our city Coordinators are doing tremendous job in their various cities. The growth of the community has been largely dependent on their efforts as each city serves as an integrated functional unit of the community. Here are the reports they have brought in for the week.

7. Community Contests

We cannot do without contests. Its s great way to motivate members and keep them active. Our LID reporting contest happens 4 days each week. And we reward our reporters with at least 0.6 steem each day.

For the week, we announced a contest - 7 days writing challenge. Since the academy is on a break, we decided to run this contest that will keep our members busy for 7 days. We have also announced winners of the previous contest and sent their prizes.

Conclusion

We are really grateful for the opportunity given us to play a big role in the growth of Steemians in Nigeria. We still have a long way to go. This week would be so promising as we hope to launch the first project under SIM. We are working hard with limited resources and hope to utilize what we have to best of our abilities.
