Contest entry: My Steemit hero by @taziba

Good day my fellow steemians, it is of gret pleasure for me to participate in the ongoing contest proposed by @ngoenyi on the steemalive community which talks on the topic and I hope you all shall take this entry as a wonderful one.

Firstly, who is a hero/heroin?
A hero is someone who is acknowledged for his noble attributes and courageous character. According to the Oxford dictionary, a hero is:

a person who is admired for their courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.
"a war hero".

So my Steemit hero is a guy named Uchenna Victor Uko. His username on the Steemit platform is @uchescrib. He's the one who introduced me to steemit in the month of February this year. He joined steemit in January and has a whooping reputation of 60 which he achieved in just 4 months. He is a very hardworking young lad, very organised and very intelligent. I know all about him because we attended the same secondary school in Uyo, Akwa ibom state. He is my steemit hero because of his undying determination to be successful. He makes no excuses when ever he needs to do something or is asked to carry out a task. This is his trait that inspires me every single day.

Before @uchescrib became my steemit hero, I wouldn't lie, I was very dormant in my first 2 months on the platform when I was newly introduced. So he helped me by adding me to a steemit group on WhatsApp called "intro to steemit" where members like @whitestallion, @awesononso and @alphafx help put me through by enlightening me on steemit. It was then I made my achievement 1 & 2 posts. After this, I was put into another group ," the steemit geeks". Sadly even after the little experience I got I was still lazy and undetermined. But growing into the platform, I'm learning little by little and the more I know, the more determined I am to succeed on this platform.

Why should I allow myself to be positively influenced on steemit?
There are so many reasons why I should allow myself to be positively influenced on steemit.
Firstly, steemit is legit. It is legit in the sense that it is not like a Ponzi or pyramid scheme that needs referrals or bonus points and there is also no such promise as return on investment (ROI) on this platform. Steemit is very straightforward, it rewards it's members based on whatever meaningful thing of benefit one can add to the platform. Another reason I should allow myself to be positively influenced on steemit is the fact that steemit is very interactive and very educational to it's users. Some people might not see it this way but steemit has actually helped educate me in lots of ways and has made me see life in a lot of different perspectives. Posts like the diary games have shown me how other people's lives are and also persuaded me to take something positive to also implement on my way of living.

My visions for steemit.
When I newly joined steemit, I saw it as another "side hustle" as Nigerians like to call it, but after having gone this far in understanding all about steemit, I have realised that a lot of money can be made by a steemian on this platform. I have a vision/aim of being very successful on the steemit platform in which I would have a lot of steempower and have more influence on people's posts.

But what are my plans to grow my steempower and actualize my vision of being a successful steemian?
Simple. Just dilugence, consistency and patience. I will need to be energetic and steady in my doings in this platform because it is not easy to cook up something original every single day. Patience is also a huge determining factor for my success as not every post is guaranteed an upvote.

My hero is contributing hugely to my vision as he helps watch over my progress. In the second paragraph I was dormant and when my hero asked me why, I gave flimsy excuses, then he sent me a message that really ate deep into my soul.

Once he sent me this message, I was somewhat scarred and then made a resolution to myself to prove him wrong. He has also helped me by giving me updates about the steemit platform.e.g the class held by @ngoenyi and @focusnow on the steemalive telegram group. He pushes me to the extreme just to make sure I do my best, something like Joseph Guardiola to his Manchester city squad😂. I am very thankful to him and also pray that God shall bless him and let him reach the height he wants to achieve in life.

Lastly, I would love others to view me as a positive influence on the steemit platform. Obviously, nobody wants to be viewed as a bad/negative influence on this platform and I believe this can only be achieved if I continue to work hard and attain meaningful progress on steemit.
