Revitalizing the Image of Steem - Steemit Communities Have Arrived | Steemleo Show #13.png

One of the most long-awaited features of the Steem blockchain has been Communities. Communities exist both in a back-end and front-end environment.

On the back-end, communities have been developed under the “Hivemind” protocol. On the front-end, they can be seen in a myriad of places and displayed in all sorts of fascinating ways — Steemleo.com shows only our community (for crypto & financial content), Steempeak.com shows all the communities (similar to Steemit, but in their own visual representation) and now Steemit.com shows the fundamental base of communities and all the various ones on the blockchain.

In this episode of the Steemleo podcast, we talk:

  • The Value of Communities to the Steem Blockchain
  • Justin Sun and His Involvement With Steem
  • Explore the Communities Page
  • Show Off the Features of an Individual Community
  • How to Use Communities
  • The Best Way to Use Steemleo — Get the Best of Both Worlds
  • How Communities Are the First Step to Revitalizing the Image of Steem & Steemit to the Rest of the Crypto World and Beyond

An amazing breakthrough...finally.

Steemleo is still one of the best communities on Steem. I always try to use the Steemleo front end for my posting on the site.

The only way to go.

Excited to see the next set of Steemleo updates.

Definitely a nice change to see some tangible progress out of the Steemit team.

;) I think it’s more important now than ever to make ourselves a bit more niche-oriented. Steemit has opened the door for the masses, but the community interfaces like Steemleo.com will hopefully he what keeps them coming back to a familiar place.

I'm so glad to see Communities become reality!

This seems like it will become a great gateway to bringing the Steem ecosystem to a broader audience. It just makes more sense for people to bring our community (as a whole) to niche-specific friends who'd be interested in participating for the community/content rather than just the previous — and not that successful — approach of "create content for money."

These are exciting times!

=^..^=

Very exciting times! I totally agree with you in hoping for a change in mindset from people looking to blog on Steem to get rich to people looking to create content they love on Steem for their community and for engagement. Money should always be secondary to happiness and creativity. Communities are a nice step in that direction

@khaleelkazi
I agree that this is exciting and it will give us a chance to see right away the power of Justin Sun’s social media skills!
I am looking for information on how communities work and this post answered many of my questions. Thanks for shedding a lot of light on the darkness here.

It will be so cool to see where we go from here.

Anytime! Always glad to shed some light :)
