BAKING
Hello steemians! While I was a kid I used to love cake a lot. In fact my love for cake is my inspiration to learning how to bake.
Baking is when we mix different ingredients like flour, sugar, eggs, and other baking ingredients together, then we put them in an oven to cook. They oven makes the mixture hot and yummy and turns it into a delicious food.
Baking is just like playing with a play-dough but instead of making shapes we are making food. While baking we need to follow some instructions or guidelines. We can also decorate our baked food into different shapes, styles and patterns.
Baking is one of the fun activities I engage myself in when I'm home all day and not going anywhere.
BAKING METHODS
There are different baking methods but I'll only limit mine to three methods which I use in baking:
Conventional baking: This involves the use of traditional oven(gas cooker) with a fixed temperature of low heat to bake cake, cookies or bread. In the traditional method, I usually make use of pots, then I put a little sand and place three stones on top of the sand and then place my pan inside the pot🤗.
I'll make sure I use a pot that has a very good cover that everywhere around the pot will be sealed when I cover.Microwaving: This involves using a microwave to bake cake or cookies. This is actually the easiest method of baking for me because I will not have to stress myself looking for pot and stones and it will not consume my gas.
The only thing I need for microwaving is electric supply. I will just slide in my food into the microwave and leave it to heat until my food is well cooked.😘Fire wood baking: This involves using dry wood to bake with a tripod stand. This is a method I usually used when I was in the village with my mom before I got married. This was the most stressful method of baking for me.
MY BAKING EXPERIENCE
I have enjoyed baking while I was a kid, watching my mom back was one of the things that made me love baking. Despite the challenges that come with traditional and firewood baking I have managed to produce delicious treats. Baking has taught patience especially the conventional baking.
BENEFITS OF BAKING
Truly we see baked food every day as we go by provision shops, eateries, etc. The benefits of eating baked food are:
Since baked food's major ingredient is flour which is one of rich source of carbohydrates, they provide us with energy to carry out our activities successfully.
If we bake with good quantity of calcium and vitamin D, they can maintain our bones and makes us to have strong bones.
Baked food can make us feel good on bad days, if you have perceived the aroma of a freshly baked bread, OMG! You will relate well with me.
Whenever we plan a picnic you will agree with me that we go must include baked food in our picnic basket hence baked food have this thing that bings people together.
SIDE EFFECTS OF BAKED FOOD
Everthing that have an advantage must have a disadvantage so baked food has its side effects which includes:
Too much of carbohydrate in our body causes body fat so when you consume a lot of calorie baked food you are at the risk gaining more weight.
Consuming too much baked food can lead to stomach upset or bloating because of the excess sugar.
If we take too much of baked food we can be at the risk of developing serious disease like diabetes.
The high amount of sugar in baked food can cause tooth decay or other oral health problems.
In conclusion, we can take baked food but we should limit our intake of them. We should also ensure that while eating baked food, we get balanced deits from other food. Lets enjoy our baked food as occasional treat and not everyday food.
