Contest: My worst/Saddest day #01

Sad and good memories merry together to make life existence a wonderful one.

what was it that made you sad or made you assume that day was your worst or saddest day?

Will I ever forget 30th September, 2024 so easily? Oh no! It is one of the memory that will not erase just like that. I felt so sad, worry, ashamed to go back, it was a saddest day to me but I didn't blame myself.

As things in my country not going the way it should be, inflation on everything including house rent. My wages was not enough again for my needs even when I cut down my expenses and I think of looking for another job that pays a little more than the present. To God be the Glory I found one, went for the interview on the fix date and everything went well.

Went back with the hope to start work by October. During this period, have tender a resignation letter in my work place, went to three schools were I can enroll my child as one of the criteria for the Job. I was set and ready to start the work with happiness and on the last day of September, 30th precisely, I received a text message, where I was told that the Job is meant for people from age 30 and above and they are very sorry for the inconveniences it might cause me.

Really? I thought to myself, am I sure is the age or something else? How can my age be a barrier for me not to work. This is not true, I quickly called on one of the person I exchange contact with during the interview if she received a text from them and she said yes and I asked her about the text in which she said the same thing.

I didn't believe it at all that its because of age, we are in Africa anything can happen. I think maybe they have already pick those they needed and then came out with that just to kick us out. I was not happy, I really felt bad because I resigned from the job I was doing and the one I was looking at has turned me down, making me to be speechless, not knowing what to do again.

How did you overcome the situation?

Well, they said before something happens it is for a purpose. I draw my strength, courage from my child. Each day, I will just wake up early start preparing as I will be going to work and when my husband left for work, I and my child will start playing.

He will make sure he did something that I will feel happy and forget about been worry. Some days, we will go for a walk, all this was to engage myself, feel good and be assure that noting affect my health.

Another way I overcome was been online. I blog in the platform, chat with friends on FB and Whatsapp, play music anytime it seems as if my mind will reflect back. Involving in all this things contribute positivity a lot to overcome the whole situation, especially steemit platform, it's such a loving and amazing place to be.

What advice would you give to people who are in similar situations or may pass through that same situation in the future.

Do not let anything weigh you down friends. Many situations we find ourselves happens for us to be strong and think outside the box. Today, were I am, am not regretting again why I left my former job or why I was not among those picked for the new job.

And so, be courageous enough to break out from the situation and you will be happy for the success that is await you. Wishing you the best as you begin a step, remember, do not look at your past failure but look at the present what it's holds.
