I have always loved cooking and trying something new in my cooking, but I will say I have improved my cooking skills in so many ways as time goes by. In my cooks, I have been willing and open to learning. I like it when I get feedback on my cooking, which gives me a satisfying feeling when I get good remarks, and I am ready to improve when there are corrections, which has helped me improve.

Moreover, constant cooking and trying something new has improved my cooking skills because it makes me learn various cooking techniques and understand them better and perfectly as I engage in constant practice.

Additionally, I have experimented with different ingredients, vegetables, fruits and spices which has allowed me to discover new methods of cooking, adjusting and substituting with all of them

Explain 5 health benefits of fried food

Satisfaction
Fried foods are liked by many because of their crispy texture, and frying enhances the natural flavour of the ingredients, making them yummy and loved.

Source of vitamin E
Some Fats are unavoidably taken up by the food being fried but fried food is generally a source of vitamin E

Fast cooking
Fried foods make cooking time shorter and faster, which enables less damage to vitamins than other types of cooking.

Versatility in ingredients
With fired food you can experiment with different ingredients, its creativity creates unique menus that are endless

High visual
Fried foods have a good and appetising look that makes them stand out, visually attractive and tasty.

Mention one meal you ate within the week and tell us the health benefits attached to it.

Oh yeah, I ate a meal that is one of my favourites, which is Oat swallow and Okro soup.

Oat swallow has lots of health benefits which include

  • it relieves constipation, aids digestion and nourishes the gut.
  • it is rich in fibre and this fibre in oats like beta-glucan lowers cholesterol
  • it improves weight management because of its richness in fibre. It makes you feel full and not eat too much.
  • it regulates blood sugar. The soluble fibre in oats prevents blood sugar from rising after eating.

Okro soup is a nutritious food with many health benefits which are:

  • okra has vitamin C and antioxidants, which help boost immunity.
  • it also has vitamin A, which protects the eye from macular degeneration and cataracts.
  • it has vitamin K and calcium which helps form strong and strengthen bones
  • It helps support healthy pregnancy
  • is unique as it is low in calories and carbs and contains some fibre and protein as many fruits and vegetables lack protein
Thomas Keller said, "A recipe has no soul. You, as the cook, must bring soul to the recipe." Give a clear explanation of this quote in 100 words.

Thomas Keller's quote pointed to the significance of a chief or cook being responsible for giving life to a recipe, as a recipe is just a guideline or direction put together by a person or persons which, when just added together without an extra effort of giving life to it come out looking common. But you, as the cook, give this recipe soul by adding a creative and personal touch, which involves putting in your passion, love, reasoning and energy for the recipe to come out good.

However, a cook transforms this simple recipe into a meaningful recipe with soul by paying attention to details, carefully selecting ingredients and showing off your cooking skills and presentations. Your presentation matters a lot. In my dialect, it is said, "The eyes eat first before the mouth," your creative presentation should be attractive, giving it that emotional depth and making your cooking a memorable one.

In summary, Thomas Keller motivates cooks that it's their responsibility to give soul to the recipe through their preparation, creativity, improvisation and preparation.

Hi @chilaw,

Your presentation matters a lot. In my dialect, it is said, "The eyes eat first before the mouth," your creative presentation should be attractive, giving it that emotional depth and making your cooking a memorable one.

I enjoyed reading your entry and absolutely loved what you mentioned here. you are so right, it's the presentation that plays a big role in making the food more appetizing.
