Introduction

I am a woman, not just by my appearance or gender. I am strong, I am brave, I am intelligent, I am kind-hearted, I am humble in spirit. When you see me, you see an epitome of beauty and glory.

You need to know her secret? Just take good care of a woman and experience the beauty of her, invest in her and live in total abundance.

I am specially thanking the Steem for Ladies Community for this topic and a special thanks to the United Nations spelt out 8th March to celebrate these sweet loving souls.

The theme for this year:

“It is Women’s Day!”

There is this usual saying in my country "when you educate a woman you educate the nation." Education is an investment. Women who are educated have a voice, and they are bold and free from some sorts of oppression in the name of culture.

There was a time in my country where women were denied education. Women's places were only seen in the kitchen and their husband's room and then taking care of children. Women were shut up on many occasions. They were seen as second class citizens, they were seen-and known as weaker vessels.

In our societies, many women were and have been abused, shattered and dehumanised. Women were denied opportunities for political involvement/affairs, they were denied high positions in offices and organisations.

My mother and other women in her time were victims of this obnoxious and ignorant act of being denied education. Today, many societies are still upholding the past, practising some cultural practices that are detrimental to women. They are still denying women some of their rights. Women are not given equal rights. We have come this far, and it is time to let go of these demeaning actions.

Where these restrictions are lifted, women's voices are empowered, women are given the opportunity to soar higher. Deep down that weaker vessel you see is great strength and might, there is a great vision yet to be born, there lies great wisdom and abundance. All you need to unlock all these is just through investing/empowering a woman today.

It starts when a girl child is adored, when a girl child is loved, properly taken care of and educated. Equal opportunity should be given to her like her male counterpart, her voice should be heard and her problems prioritised.

Conclusion

I am calling on every home, society, organisation and the government to invest in and empower women for accelerated growth and development.
