In recent times, the world has been shifting. Shifting from people's culture and way of life to whatever is deemed societally acceptable and appropriate. Though this has its perks, but in other ways, has denied a lot of budding youngsters the culinary satisfaction that comes with our native dishes.

Dishes like ugba and abacha, tapioca and palm wine, et centra. These meals and many more were a uniting force in the house back when I grew up. Once we hear mama has made one of these, we would all scurry out of our hiding places or playgrounds as these were not meals to miss.

Anyways, as I stepped out to look for what to eat, I came across this colourful work of art.

A combination of yam, cooked red oil, onions, seasonings, a healthy amount of pepper and utazi, in my native tongue it is called "Ji nnamu". It is a testament to the rich and diverse culture we embody as a people.

With colours rich and eye catching, it typifies the Nigerian landscape full and overflowing with natural resources. Our vast plateaus, a beauty to behold.

I quickly bought 4 steem worth of roasted yam, softly boiled sweet potatoes, roasted plantain spiced with utazi to go.

As I placed the first pieces into my mouth the taste hit me like a freight train reminding me that though we (Nigeria) is made up of many different tribes and ethnicities, yet we can like this perfectly mixed meal of Ji nnamu, our differences can be a common ground that unites us and makes us stronger because like the food before me, though each ingredient is different and in some circumstances may stand alone, yet when brought together in a perfect mix tastes better and is more satisfying.

Oh I would highly recommend you buy some if it can be found In your local area.
You can trust me or anyone else who has eaten this food to come back again because like the saying goes," who no like better thing??

In a land of Tinubu and a time of sapa, a fine girl is enjoying her money in a far away city.

It’s been a while I tasted this delicacy, looks like we would revisit those old times again. Nice photo for the week in a time like this. 😉 Enjoy.

😂😂😂Thank you ma'am
