Food Thought #14 | Do you Worry or Pray?

It's amazing to start the week with this very important topic, "worry or prayer?" If you have been following my food thought, I guess by now you are having a change of mind about some issues in your life or some drastic decisions you took.

You know we see life in a very different dimension from how God sees it. He said that a thousand years in our eyes is like a day in his eyes. And I wonder, how is this possible? How does it work? Well, I can't understand because he is God; even scientists were not able to decode it.

We keep worrying ourselves about how to deal with issues, how to solve problems, and how to live well and comfortably, but we don't get the answers; instead, we get the devil's advice coming to our mind to do so, silly things that would endanger us.

Last week, I was so worried about how to solve a particular problem. I walked up and down my room thinking, panting, and seriously worried. I began to get some silly ideas to mind telling me to do some stuff that is not just right at all. I'm the middle of it, my friend began to talk with me, she even read scriptures and at a time I began to feel alright.

See, the moment you start worrying, you lose out. The devil uses that opportunity to fill up your mind with negativity. It's very dangerous to worry. When we worry, we reverse that good thing that is about to come our way. The devil sees it, and that is why he stands by to fill up your mind the moment you start worrying.

Instead of worrying, pray. There's this song I was taught in school some years back; it says,

💤Why worry when you can pray?,

Trust in Jesus, and he will make a way.

Don't be like doubting Thomas,

But trust in his promise.

Why worry worry worry?"💤

When we worry, we doubt the ominipotensy of God, we doubt his power, we doubt his ability, we doubt his glory, we doubt his possibility, and these actions take God's blessings far away from us.

Prayer is the only way out. When you feel like worrying about something, pray. Drop it at his feet and tell him how you feel. Let him hear you; remind him of his words. It is said that a problem shared is half solved but if you don't want to share with friends, then share with God in prayer.

Let me ask a question: When you want something from your parents and you make your request known on the first day and nothing is done after one week, do you go worrying? You go back to remind them about that particular thing because they might have forgotten; that is the same thing with God.

God does not forget, but he said we should remind him of his promises. It's a constant reminder that he desires from us, and until we do it, we might not see his quick manifestation.

Even when you don't know what to pray or how to pray, just talk to God; he understands all languages. Prayer takes us closer to God, but worry keeps us at arms length.

Worry less and pray more!
