Indeed last Sunday was an amazing one as I woke up very early to prepare for service because I was invited to a women program at Redemption House of Glory Church Int'l, 10 Ebong Essien Street, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. It was such an exciting moment to join women in Women's celebration with the title "Resilient Woman. So I woke up as early as 5:00am to have morning devotion. My husband was surprised because on Sundays I wake up late. After Morning devotion, I went straight into the kitchen to boil bath water for my baby girl and also prepare breakfast for the family.
After the water was boiled, I prepared breakfast while my husband assisted me to bath our Princess. I prepared editan soup and garri for breakfast. Sorry I do not have a picture for the food as my phone was off as at the time. When the breakfast was ready I went into the bathroom to have my shower, after I was done I went to set the table for breakfast we all ate exception of Princess Etieyen-Sophia. I know she wanted something different for breakfast but in my family that was the only food available and we could not afford what she wanted. This was a concern to me but I had no option than to go to Church with her in an empty stomach. I wish I could get her favourite to her but I was financially restricted. I know it can be possible if only I am consistent in steemit of which I have vowed to be from now henceforth.
We arrived at the church few minutes pass 8:00am and they were rounding up with their Sunday school lessons. Ehn! We missed that important part of the service, this was due to the type of attire I was putting on. I decided to dress in wrapper that is 'ndot iba'. Ah! Don't mind women and their wahala!!! After the Sunday school the choir led us into Spirit filled session of praise and worship. The experience cannot be forgotten in a hurry.
At the end of the worship experience The Redemption Women President, Deaconess Mary E. William gave her welcome speech expressing gratitude for a successful women conference and grand finale service. She appreciated the women for their support and thanked their spiritual head Prophet/Pastor Mrs. Ubong Akpambang for their encouragement and support through out the conference.
Women displayed various talents ranging from song ministration, bible quiz competition, I know my husband competition to drama. The warm reception I received from these women was second to none. They accepted me into their fold as if I was one of them. I participated in their song ministration and was allowed to sit with them. As a result I promised them that I was going to pay the #6,000 (20steem) levy for the women program because I was warmly welcomed and accepted without any form of discrimination.
The high point of the event was the exhortation by Pastor Mrs. Ubong Akpambang on the topic The Resilient Woman. Drawing her message from Ruth 1:2-20. She highlighted the following as ways to become relevant in life
- Seek God first
- Leave a positive mark at a place.
- Relevant people discover their purpose in life. You must discover your purpose
- Know and Write down your vision
- Develop your self into your vision Esther was kept for 12years for purification and character remolding or training. Another example was Ruth physical academical self development gives you self confidence.
- Speak faith and be faithful. You need to be bold. Do not be timid. Prov. 9:27, 7.Righteous judgement should not leave your mouth. Be truthful and always say the truth. The truth will kill you but it will also resurrect you. Invest in that which last. Show true beauty in character and attitude. Learn to payback what ever you borrow from people.
- Stay humble. Be constantly aware of pride and arrogance. Don't think less of your self but think your self less that is humility.
9 Serve the Lord. Sacrificial service is what will make you relevant and lastly - If you must be relevant serve humanity.
At the end of the service we were treated with sumptuous meal. I chose affang soup and a bottle of chilled with garri and foofoo and a bottle of chilled sobo, this meal should cost #1,000 (3.3steem). To my surprised my girl finished a ball of garri that we were served with.
At 4:00pm we left the church and visited a family friend who also treated us to another sumptuous delicacy of rice and stew. This one was rich with chicken and cat fish, oh my God I really forgot to have a snap of that meal, I can bet you that meal was worth, #6,000(20steem). My daughter was so excited that we visited that particular family as she jump up and down playing with their children. Our going home was really decorative as they blessed us with 4 litters of vegetable oil, I full custard of rice, 7 fresh eggs and a cash token of #25,000 each as they drove us home with their personal car. I was over joyed and forgot to snap those gifted items meanwhile the time as about 8:30pm. Everything we were gifted where up to #80,000(271steem) those gifts really helped us as we had run out of foodstuff and money to keep the family going. They really made our week a memorable one.
Getting home we were all filled and tired as we went straight to bed. Indeed it was a great Sunday and we really exploited our day.
I invite my friends @wakeupkitty, @bela90 and @eevetime to join me and share their days how it went
