LET'S TALK ABOUT HOBBY

AS A WOMAN WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVOURITE HOBBY.

Hobby in my understanding happens to be one of the favourite things you do during your leisure time to keep you busy or for fun.
As a woman, I have hobbies😂😂
My hobbies are; dancing, writing and creating designs.

Dancing as part of my hobby is one of the amazing things to do. I find a way of communicating and showing off my emotions by using the rhythms to ignite the passion I feel at such moments. Dancing traditionally too, shows the way of life or one's originality. Easily identified as an Ibibio, could be from my mode of dressing and dancing a well known dance called “Ekombi ''.

Writing as my hobby “oh how time flies, my fear relished through the power of where my hand lies with the use of but a plastic and ink cartridge”. Writing is the best way I tell my emotions. In a world where by it seems your secrets are more safer with you than anyone leads me to write. I write because it's my muse. Writing draws me into the deeper world where by imaginations created sparks up a reaction which is brought to reality to leave you in awe.

Creating designs: Believe me being creative is one of my favorite thing to do. Then, in my primary school during our exhibition day, I made a pillow which pupils taught it was a teddy bear. In sec school, when I have nothing doing, my colour poster and little diary keeps me company to create what I want though I lost my diary. I once made an headwear using a carton. No one knew least I tell them.

The style of my clothes too are mostly drawn by me. That is my hobby.

Have you had any significance experience through hobby?

Yes I have had alot of it. My ability to dance got me called up by most teachers in nur and secondary to teach a choreography in school.

My ability to write earned me an opportunity to be invited by my friend @imohmitch who is a steemian to join this great community of writers.

Creating of designs as one of my hobby, has given me an opportunity to be called upon most time by friends and individual to draw and design styles for their outfit.

Do you think that practicing your hobby is beneficial to you?

Yes I do think it is beneficial to me because I have learnt alot due to the course of practicing my hubby daily.

How much time do you need to spend on your hubby?

Seriously, I will want as much time as possible. Would you mind sparing me some of your own?

What do you like most about your hobby and why?/ If you have any anecdote tell us.

What I like most about my hobby are as follows:
Dancing: dancing has brought together people with different cultural diversity.
Writing has helped widen my vocabulary as I search for new words each day to spice up my work.
Creating designs keeps me to be creative and look out to creating and possibly one day taking fashion to a different level.

An Anecdote

It was a hot summer afternoon. Solomon ran off leaving his best friend Desmond in school. Rushing home, he met mom and I. Smiling sheepishly, he tried dashing off to his room when mom called to ask him what made him so happy. “I am gay” he said. We were intially taken aback. An angry mother who screamed, scolded and waited for her husband before taking any action could not but look at her son with disgust. I smirked and left. My brother had been denied food. When dad arrived, he showered and came over to the dining room so we all could have dinner together. Mom asked brother to repeat what he said.

“I am gay” he said. The water gulped by dad had its way of passing through his mouth to the table. Dad fumed and turned red with anger. A laughter would have betrayed my brother, but he kept still. “I am gay” he said again this time dad could no longer contend his anger. So, my brother laughed. “Daddy” he said I have gotten a scholarship for being the most well behaved student in school and during our literature class, I was told by by teacher that gay means to be happy. So therefore “I am gay because I got a scholarship”. You are a professor why haven't you come across such word before? Everyone felt stupid for falling into his trap. The looks on our faces was that of disappointment.

Not too long, Desmond walked in to meet our family in the middle of dinner. Desmond greeted everyone though we were all suspicious, he said he came to check on Solomon because he ran off without waiting for him. Dad, told Solomon to repeat what he had told the whole family to Desmond. “I am gay” he said and got a slap from Desmond. We were all surprised at Desmond reaction for slapping his best friend but we said nothing at least that served him right for fooling and making mockery at our ignorance. Desmond apologized when he knew the meaning of gay too.

Don't be ignorant read widely. I guess you didn't know gay could have another meaning either.
