Poor Harry was found as a stray in Southern California and ended up in a high-kill shelter.
With his time at the shelter coming to an end and the prospect of being euthanized becoming more certain a rescue in Santa Fe stepped forward to save the poor soul and give him a second chance at life and love.
Per the rescue:
Why I saved him. He didn't have a chance to walk out cause he was so shut down at that shelter. I called and no rescue or adopter wanted him 😢 Thank you for having patience and love for this trip 💕 💗 ❤
So thankfully Harry didn't end up as just another statistic killed off and dumped into the local landfill and now he had to get from SoCal to New Mexico and the call went out for help with this emergency transport
We met Harry over in Payson late in the afternoon as the transport was running over an hour behind schedule due to highway accident delays.
The poor little guy was so timid and afraid to get out of his crate so I literally had to carry him to my car.
After a few miles Harry must have realized he was safe and he gradually crept forward and settled down next to me as my wife drove.
Soon enough the stress from his weeks in the shelter and now the sudden change of going from car to car began to ease and it was clear that Harry just loved to be with people.
Three hours later and well after the sun had set it was time to hand Harry off the the next driver to continue his late night journey on to Santa Fe
And finally around midnight he was "home" and ready to get some rest after his long, long day.
Good night and pleasant dreams Harry
The next day Harry was having a great time getting settled into his new home and hopefully he will have years filled with many wonderful adventures - Good Luck Harry
