Self-care is important to maintaining overall health and wellness. Self-care is the actions you take to maintain your physical and mental health and for yourself. Self-care isn't just about treating yourself occasionally, it's about making regular healthy habits. I thank @sahmie for organizing such a contest. How do you prioritize self-care in your daily routine?
As a student I have a regular routine that I follow. For self-care, I start the day with brushing my teeth in the morning and exercising which guarantees me a nice fresh day. I try to keep breakfast nutritious for my health care although it is not possible to do it regularly. In the busyness of the whole day, eat lunch time and rest. At the end of the day I need enough sleep for my good health. Also drink enough water.
What activities help you relax when you're feeling stressed?
We do some activities every day to beat the boredom at work and so do I. I do activities depending on what is causing my irritation. When I feel pressured by my academic studies in the library, I stop reading and read non-academic short stories and novels that relax me.
If I am bored doing something I sit down and take deep breaths it calms my body and mind. Also occasional travel to relax yourself and hang out with friends relieves stress.
Why is self-care important to maintaining overall wellness?
Regular self-care helps prevent physical and mental fatigue. Provides energy needed to meet daily demands and handle challenges. Self-care is necessary to eliminate one's illness and lead a healthy life. Self-care makes us a healthy habit. Self-care increases our self-confidence. In fact, self-care improves our quality of life.
How do you make sure you make time for yourself in your busy schedule?
It is very difficult to find time for self-care in your busy schedule. But it is very important to maintain balance and wellness towards yourself. I take care of myself during my busy times like exams.
I create a routine where I set aside time for self-care, yes this time is less than other times. I do morning exercises and meditate. Keeping nutritious food in self-care is more practiced during busy times or when overworked.
What self-care practices have you found most beneficial for your mental health?
Just as physical health is essential to our well-being, mental health is also important. Along with physical health, mental health takes precedence when it comes to self-care. Deep breathing exercises calm my mind and reduce anxiety. Regular physical exercise such as walking, running along with other activities such as push-ups improves mood and reduces stress. Relaxation care in self-care is getting enough sleep to feel refreshed. Also creating stories and social environments with others is an important mental health booster. Beneficial habits are those that align with your personal preferences and lifestyle, providing a meaningful way to support your mental health.
