Vaccines are important to prevent various infectious diseases, especially those caused by viruses. In Indonesia, the government requires immunization or the act of giving vaccines to children so that their bodies are resistant to various diseases. But there are also parents who refuse the vaccine.

My opinion about vaccines:

Vaccines are very important for the health and future of a country's generation of citizens. I know this because I have been actively campaigning for the importance of immunization in the mass media to help the UNICEF program in Aceh Province, Indonesia since 2018. I often write about it, educating citizens to understand immunization and vaccination.

Vaccines are believed to be able to prevent various infectious diseases which are generally caused by viruses, such as measles, rubella, polio and hepatitis. Vaccines given to children from infancy come from weakened viruses, thereby increasing their body's resistance to fighting infectious diseases.

I received a Covid-19 vaccination recently:

The Covid-19 pandemic that hit the world in 2020 made the government think about various policies to break the chain of spread of the corona virus. One way is through vaccination for the entire community.

The Indonesian government has made various regulations to promote the prevention of the corona virus through vaccination. One of them is requiring airplane passengers on various flights to be fully vaccinated, as well as holding vaccinations in schools. All vaccines are obtained free of charge.

I received the full Covid-19 vaccine or 3 times to help fight the disease, and I have never felt attacked by the corona virus.

According to my parents, vaccines have also been given to me since childhood. Luckily, I have parents who understand about health for their children.

What would happen today if a child was born and did not receive vaccinations?

In August 2018, I took part in the "Socialization of the Measles and Rubella Immunization Campaign" held by UNICEF and the Aceh Health Service. The activity was attended by several parents whose children had been infected with the Rubella virus, and competent resource persons.

I was very sad when I heard the story of a mother who told about her child who was disabled because he missed the Rubella vaccine while pregnant. The child couldn't hear, was thin and was diagnosed with a heart leak that was starting to heal.

The mother admitted that while pregnant she contracted Rubella, a disease she did not know about at that time. He hopes that all mothers will always vaccinate during pregnancy so that their babies can be healthy at birth.

In November 2022, the Indonesian Ministry of Health discovered a case of a child suffering from polio in Pidie Regency, Aceh Province. The child had defects in his legs, resulting in abnormal growth.
