Hello dear Steemians,
I am here to participate in this contest hosted by @suboohi in the healthy steem community. Bone health plays an important role in our lives by protecting our organs and overall wellbeing effectively and efficiently.
The human skeleton gives our body maximum protection and support to aid our mobility in going from one place to another. Bone health is connected to calcium and is one of the main storage areas for calcium, allowing it to function properly. Inadequate calcium intake affects the bone's development.
The human skeleton needs quality food that contains high nutrients, especially calcium, which we get from food. With this, our bones will be stronger and healthier. Vitamin D intake is also important for child bone development, which can result in preventing the loss of bone in the future. Bone health strengthens the human skeleton, which is important for body movement and also prevents fractures from occurring.
These tips are necessary to improve our bone health not only for that, but also to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
• Regular exercise: is vital to maintaining overall wellbeing. This includes sports (football, table tennis, etc.), jogging, walking, and so on. As humans, we must engage in these activities to build strong bones and limit bone loss.
• Test your bone mineral density: this can help determine a high risk of fracture. People should get tested as early as possible. Women need to visit health professionals for check-ups within 2 years of reaching menopause.
• Avoid smoking: we should try to quit smoking as much as possible because it decreases our bone mobility, eventually leading to a high risk of fracture.
• Too much alcohol can be dangerous: excessive intake affects other nutrients important for bone health. We must seek medical attention if our life depends on it.
We must eat food that contains a healthy balanced diet to help us maintain good shape and also prolong our life.
• Calcium: Young people need 700mg of calcium a day. We must be able to eat foods that have good sources of calcium such as cheese, milk, soya beans, cabbage, and okra.
• Vitamin D: Sometimes it's difficult to get vitamin D from our diet. We can get this vitamin from the sun around 8:30 am or 9:00 am in the morning before sunscreen is applied. Food sources of vitamin D include egg yolks, oily fish like sardines, breakfast cereals, and so on.
We must take care of our bone health at an early stage so that it can help us prevent bone breakage later in life. I would like to invite @goodybest, @ruthjoe and @abisolami to participate in this contest.
