What is Malaria?

Malaria is a life-threatening disease that has killed millions of people worldwide. It is caused by a parasite transmitted through mosquito bites. This disease spreads to humans, eventually resulting in high fever, headaches, and pain throughout the body. Malaria is very common in Africa, with over 200 million people getting infected. The World Health Organization (WHO) often tries its best to reduce malaria infections by distributing vaccines and other malaria medicines to cure this sickness. When a mosquito injects the parasite into your body and you notice the symptoms, you must visit healthcare providers to avoid brain damage.

What are the three symptoms of malaria explain it.

Malaria symptoms normally occur a few weeks after being bitten by Anopheles mosquitoes. These symptoms can stay in our body for a long time before spreading to the bloodstream. The signs and symptoms include the following:

√ Fever
√ Vomiting
√ Joint pain*
√ Headache

• Fever: The person who gets infected will start experiencing a temporary high temperature than normal.

• Vomiting: This symptom appears when you forcefully vomit food through your mouth as a result of sickness.

• Joint pain: Pain will occur all over your body after a few weeks to a month.

• Headache: People who get infected experience pain in their forehead. When this occurs, we must visit healthcare providers.

Earlier treatment is the best. If left untreated within 24 hours, it can lead to serious illness that damages some organs in our body. Malaria contributes negatively to our lives, affecting our daily activities. That's why we may not be able to move from one place to another. Pregnant women with their unborn child are the most vulnerable people, and young children who have not developed strong immunity will be affected in their developmental upbringing. Malaria is a public health problem that causes serious illness and death.

How to prevent malaria?

• Try to sleep inside well treated mosquito net to keep them away. this can be done when you hang the net on the door and other specific places.

• Always clean your sorrounding and allows stagnant water to easily flow so that it can prevent you from getting sick.

• Seek medical attention before embark to the malaria infested places and you must received appropriate treatment when you are back from the area.

• Close the window and your door to prevent mosquitoes from entering.
