I am @akbarmia, from Bangladesh
In today's modern age, there are very few people who are not addicted to social media. I am now a grown man, capable of discerning good and evil. Still, I spend a lot of time on social media. I work in a private company; my work pressure is not much there, so whenever I get time, I go to social media like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Steemit platform, etc. Because on S platform we can know news, entertainment, sports etc. But the best part is that out of these, I currently spend most of my time on the Steemit platform. Because I can learn from a lot of educational content, I also create content and earn from it.
I am often active on social media. Because I keep track of sports news, country situations, viral trends, etc. So even if I get some time between office work, I go to social media, but after joining the Steemit platform, I have reduced my activeness on other platforms. Especially I am especially interested in sports, so among the news I watch sports news most. Moreover, I regularly track and watch dramas, movies, web series etc., of some of my favourite actors and actresses.
Yes, children's and teens' social media time is an important aspect to monitor. Because we can learn or enjoy good things on social media. Again, there are many bad aspects like unsafe, vulgar, immoral, etc. Moreover, the excessive use of smartphones by children and teenagers at that time can disrupt their mental health and overall development. So I think parents should be aware of this and monitor the social media usage of their children and teenagers.
I am a very simple person. And I'm not that popular on social media. So I don't have that viral moment. But a few days ago a picture of me from 12 years ago caught everyone's attention due to my friends restreaming it on Facebook. Many people have given this picture a thumbs up and many have given very good comments. So this can be considered as my viral moment on social media.
Yes, social media can become addictive whenever its use is excessive. Disrupts our work and wastes our precious time. Notifications of social media likes, comments, messages etc. act like an addiction in my brain. Many times we just scroll through social media, which is of no use to us. So I think nowadays, teenagers and old people are getting addicted to social media, which is a big threat to us.
Finally, it can be said that social media has its benefits as well as its disadvantages. So, above all, it will depend on the user and how conscious he is using it. Its addiction is affecting our current society a lot. So we need to be more aware and it is very important to keep our watch on the little ones.
