"Medical Talk Wk 1 - Healthy Habits Vs Unhealthy Habits "

Greetings and compliments of the season. Glad to be here as we talk on healthy and unhealthy habits. I invite @unyime23 and @josepha and @ninapenda to partake in this contest.

Our health is a very important part of our existence and how we handle it through the things we do daily matters a lot. There’s a saying that health is wealth and that’s absolutely true. The things we do on daily basis affects our health, hence we should try to build healthy habits.

Some of the things I do daily as healthy habits includes;

  • Ensuring I carry out proper hygiene on my body and around my environment. I brush twice daily and I have my birth at least twice daily. I ensure I wash and take good care of my undies and my clothes.

I try to keep my house clean and free from dirts. I sweep and mop the floors, wash the plates and toilets and keep my house clean from mosquitoes, roaches and other sickness carrying house insects.

  • Getting enough sleep is paramount for good health. So I ensure I get enough sleep to help my body reset and help my brain rest and be refueled to continue carrying out it functions properly. Depriving the body of adequate sleep is not good.

  • I engage in daily exercise. I often walk a lot most times because I use it as a means to exercise my legs and body. Walking is a good form of exercise.

  • I watch my diets and I try to eat food rich in nutrients. I love eating vegetables and fruits alot because of their nutritional values. I try to reduce my intake of fatty foods and food high in calories.

  • Washing my hands regular with soap as I go about my daily duties. Washing our hands helps to prevent a wide range of diseases and sicknesses that we could connect through dirty hands.

There are some habits that are unhealthy and are harmful to the body. They are simply opposite of healthy habits. Unhealthy habits such as;

  • Not having proper hygiene. Not brushing and bathing regularly and keeping ones environment clean will give place for germs and infections.

  • Over eating and too much binging on junk foods can lead to obesity.

  • Under eating or starving can lead to malnutrition.

  • using people personal belongings can also lead to transfer of infection if the person has any.

  • Over sleeping; did you know that over sleeping can lead to some heart diseases and even obesity?. It’s even more dangerous than not having enough sleep.

  • Not washing our hands and eating with dirty hands can introduce germs into our system and leading to sickness.

I do healthy things for myself and they make me happy. One of those occasions was when I was going out every morning for jogging and I engage in aerobic excerises and they really made me feel fit.

I had times when I was eating late in the night for long and that’s a bad habit. It made me have a big tummy and so I really felt very bad. I had always loved my tummy flat. I had to stop eating late night food once it’s 7pm and my tummy is beginning to get back in shape again.

In conclusion, Health is very important and we should maintain healthy habits to be in top shape health wise. Thank you for visiting my blog. Your comments are welcomed.

Walking is a good form of exercise my dear friend, trust me regular washing of hands at intervals is a very good hygiene habit. All the best my friend
