What are Heat Rash and Their Causes?
Heat rash is a type of skin infection, caused by the exposure of overheating or hot environment. Heat rash also known as miliaria is normally happen from November through May which is about seven months. The occurrence usually raise because of the dry season which is a hot season period. when hot weather become unbearable to sweat ducts, thereby causing the appearance of rashes and itching in the body.
Heat rash affect both female and male but mostly the effects occur in children more than the adult because of their
sweat ducts which are not fully developed to stand as a defense.
What Kind of Treatment You Can Give to a Person Suffering with Heat Rash?
The itching that comes with heat rash expecially when working under the hot weather or staying in a poor ventilated place can be so annoyance. In order to get rid of the rash, itching, discomfort, you need to do the follow;
Stay in a conducive environment A place that had a fan or an Air conditioner can keep the skin cool and dry, preventing the body from sweating.
Take a cool water bath: Cleaning the body with a mild soap using water can also keep the body calmed. It will also help to avoid rubbing the skin which can cause inflammation and irritation.
Increase water intake: Water intake should be increase as staying hydrated can worsen the situation.
Use sulfur: Adding sulfur in coconut oil extraction or red oil been heated to rub on the affected areas will prevent itching, making your skin to return to normal in days.
Wear Loose Clothing: Wearing of loose clothes is favorable at this time. It will make air to have easy penetration over the skin which will improving the body from not sweating, then make the skin to be comfortable.
Apply Calamine Lotion on the affected areas : Calamine Lotion is one of the best heat rash that keeps the skin in a cooling state.
Can Heat Rash Severity Make You Bedridden
Well as one of the victim, I will say NO. Staying in the bed for a long time will even become worse because itching will become unbearable. Once you start scratching, it might lead to inflammation, redness and pains which you're feel very discomfort.
The best thing is to stay in a cool area, bath as many times you can, drink water appropriately, seek for medical treatment when it becomes unbearable and make sure you avoid rubbing and wearing of tightclothes.
