Hello friends, i gladly welcomes you all to my article in this week's edition of the Health Matters as organised by @sahmie I would be participating immediately immediately.


✅ How do you practice self-care in your daily routine

Self-care is indeed very crucial to me, I make sure I take good care of myself and ensure my health is at its premium point. I select various behavioural patterns to grace this conduct, cushioning my health while prioritizing self-care in my daily routine.

Firstly, I brush my teeth twice daily, I do not forget it, early in the morning after waking ad saying my prayers, I brush it to scrub out undigested food debris which could decay and breed bacteria toxins dangerous to the body. This is top priority in my self-care routine.

Moreso, I assume the role of cleanliness, I do laundry every weekend, I do not repeat a clothing twice, making my clothes have a better shelf life and looking sparkling clean in them. I make it a routine to also wash my beddings every weekend too, my weekends are for cleaning and washing respectively.

Importantly, my body towel which I use after bathing is soaked in hot water every 2 weeks and washed off, this is done to clean off underlying dirts and bacteria which could cause infections. I change tooth brush more often than not, about every 3 months of use, this is a brief run down of my self-care routine.


✅ What activities help you relax and unwind when you are feeling stressed

  • Music Therapy: I am quick to tune in to music after a stressful day whenever I get back from work. The genre blues is the kind of music I listen to at this point, it's really crucial as it turns up happy emotions from the melody of the rhythm of the music.

  • Cold Water Bath: I guess it works for few, jumping into a swimming pool or Jacuzzi, but in my case my bathing tub filled with cold water is actually a way i relax my body nerves, it is a major relaxing etiquette while listening to soft music, it calms my nerve while the air conditioner blows me in the bathroom, it aids me in relaxing while easing off stress in the cool of the evening.

  • Movie Activity: I have a Netflix account and I readily choose comedy movies to relax after my bathe, turn off the lights, turn low the music and turn on the comedy movies to the highest point. The movie plays through the night to my bliss. I easily evolve stress and ascend into my rest mood. Peace of mind envelopes me immediately.

✅ Why is self-care important for maintaining overall well-being

Self-care is indeed crucial for maintaining overall well-being because it changes people perception about you, people value you all the more if you look good and have good charismatic qualities. Self care attracts the crowd to you in one way or the other.

Moreso, self-care improves self-esteem, for people who possess self-esteem issues, bipolar personalities and what have you, self care portrays better image. Picture this scenario; A guy with low self esteem, bought a new perfume, he begins to scent nice ad akk of a sudden people begin flooding around him, automatically he becomes confident thus selfcare is maintaining his overall well being


✅ How do you ensure you take time for yourself amidst your busy schedule?

I basically, do not miss my breakfast, hot chocolate tea, with short bread or creamy cake pie, the nutritional goodness gets me kick started for the days activities. Importantly, I do not forget my exercise and hydration routine. I always try hard to stay hydrated, enjoying every bit of my day staying positive and loving the activities as it goes on.

Most importantly I enjoy evening walks alone or with company of friends too, as it makes me relax and live the best version of my life. Mediation routine is indeed not left out of it, as I always keep my mind at rest, actively breathing as maintaining optimum health and vitality. These activities I perform amidst my busy schedule to take good care of myself.


✅ What self-care practices have you found most beneficial for your mental health

My regular routine of breakfast with hot chocolate and bread makes my day fired up, I really enjoy this part. Most importantly the cold bathes under the symphony of blissful music makes my mental health at 100% It makes my mood light and joyful, I could gift someone a million dollars at tha point of rest, a great state of mind, a sarcasm...haha. This is the part i say i gladly drop my pen.
